OK, I love Maine but the answer is "blackflies".
The word changes in a couple week to "mosquitos" and a while after that to "no-see-ums".

Or to continue with dave1949, the rain falls mainly on the "uninvited guests that show up in July and August, sleep late and stay up later and expect free lobster and to be entertained with fireworks and circus elephants on a 24/7 basis". :laughing: No, I'm not bitter---- but the involuntary twitch is still there...

You left out the deer flies. They've been real bad the past two summers. But, yes, the blackflies are what will save this state from civilization. :laughing:

Oh, they aren't co-workers...they're my employees.
One guy is involved in a project at our Bethel facility, the other person ( a woman) is on bereavement leave due to her father's death. They'll both be back next week.
