I have a 1515 Cub. I t will run good for about 10 min then sputter. Afer another 5 min it bogs down with PTO on, when I stop PTO it runs better. It bogs down and wont hardly run with Pto on. Changed gas filter and plug. added new gas, tried Heat and Sea foam,Loosened gas cap.After mower sits for a few hrs I can mow again for 10 min. Any one got any ideas???? Thanks.

Perhaps the fuel pump? Just a thought.

OP - also chk for trash/mice nests/etc buildup under engine cooling cowling sheet metal...

Take the air filter off and see if that helps.

Perhaps it's running lean and the carb needs adjustment. This would also cause it to run hot.

To me it almost sounds like you may have a sticky needle valve on the float of your carb.

If you can let the engine sit off for about 3-5 min (allows the bowl to fill back up with fuel) and it starts right up and can run good for about 10 min before the symptoms show again than it's probably some debris at the needle valve inside the carb. It could be a fuel pump if it has one but I'm thinking it is probably gravity fed.

i have a cub cadet 1515 it sat for a while just mowed 2 acres with no prob. then started spitting and sputtering then just stopped running!! checked oil, carb, fuses, has good fuel flow from the fuel line, spark plug is good, the carb is getting gas just wont start i need help its been boggling my brain

when it won't start again: remove air cleaner. have assistant attempt to start engine normally (in seat, 1/2 throttle, PTO off, cl/br pedal fully depressed). Spray several shots of carb cleaner directly down carb throat ( NO ether starting fluid !!).
If engine pops or tries to start, you have a fuel delivery problem of some type. If not, there is an ignition or mechanical problem.
Run above test and post back with results so we can go from there.
