Good morning! 57˚ clear skies but low fog, getting up in the 80˚s this afternoon. The temp will dip to the 40˚ here Wednesday so the northern Texas counties might be covering their gardens AGAIN.

Yep, I think Farmgirl19 and I both will be covering our gardens. What about you, Dennis? Yesterday, the forecast said 37 F for Tuesday night. This morning's forecast says 33 F. By tomorrow, it will probably say 31 F. We can't get a break it seems. My blackeyed peas showed freeze damage from the last frost that didn't show up until two days after the frost. This has been a tough spring for gardens so far.

I understand Scotty, but I'd bet if you had over a week of 70s and high 80s and normal temperatures in the mid-60s, you'd be miffed about a once-every-10-day drop into the freezing zone. I can remember one year when I had a bunch of 100+ days in April here. I don't want that again, EVER, but these little nagging frosts are tough. They aren't killing frosts, but they sure are enough to set back the garden. If it turns out that this means we are gonna have a cool summer with regular rainfall, I'll eat my words. But, it sure is disappointing to repeatedly think winter is over and then get a snap frost. I've seen watermelon growers get their melons planted in mid-March here so they will be early to market before July 4th. If they planted early this year, they are cussin' and replantin' right now. That could drive the price of locally grown melons very high.

Very nice sunny day forecast with a high of 17C/63F.
Went to the farmers auction yesterday, my stuff sold for a decent price :thumbsup:but spent 4 times as much on new donated items such as a 5 gallon pail of hydraulic oil, new 100 gallon water tub for the cows and several other items.

Good morning all. 55F sunny going to 71F and sunny. Couldn't get weed spray equipment working so started mowing yesterday. Started my every 3 year Alzheimer research sessions this morning.

Good luck Roy on the house acquisition process.

For a REAL change it is 61 degrees here and bright sun for a change, after that last total rainfall of over 8 inches during just over a week and a half, I am SO happy it is dry for a change. Been doing a lot of carpentry outdoors, I go to Goodwill and buy used oak furniture cheap, then bring it home and repair, refinish, and rebuild it to fit my purposes. Have a slow leak in my JD front tire, going to post a new thread someplace here to learn the best way to deal with it.

73F and a bit voggy, could be a nice day
Went on a great tour yesterday with friends, learning about growing mushrooms at a local farm. Fun and informative: http://fungaljungle.com/
Finishing the supports for pegboard in the original shop section, off to Happy Hour with friends this afternoon.
Have a great day

Good Afternoon Jim,
I totally understand, if I had any kind of crop ruined because of frost and had to replant, I would be much more than " miffed " !

It just seems that the jet stream seems to be pushing that cold weather down in the middle of the country every so many days, causing headaches for many farmers ! :( If its any consolation, its been pretty darn cold up here also, we seem to get a couple of warm days and then the temps plummet... it cant last too much longer ! ;):)
