Good Morning 73˚ heading down to 43˚ ???? It was 90˚ yesterday.
It is dead still outside. Now is the calm before the storm, the cold front with storms is just a county away and should hit within the hour.

I wonder if Jim's maters made it through the night, or did he have to help them? He could have sacrificed his body and cuddled up with those tender young things. :cool2:

Oh yes! We covered all our plants with buckets and flowerpots to keep them toasty warm. The only things unprotected are sugar snap peas and my little bean and blackeyed peas that just jumped out of the ground during the last two balmy days. Most of the stuff will not be hurt without a hard freeze and frost is not in the forecast because of the wind. What a difference this morning is from yesterday. It was 68 F yesterday morning and this morning it is 36 F with wind and rain continuing. We are colder here than you are there in Maine, Dave. Everyone who is reporting balmy weather better enjoy it while you have it. If this cold blast gets to you, you'll be in the freezer again. Maybe it will peter out before making it to the east and northeast U.S.

Ron, I am sincerely sorry about your mother and wish you didn't have to deal with your situation, but I know you will do the right thing, as difficult as it may be.

Rained most of the night, have gotten about 1 1/2 inches in the past few days. Finished taxes yesterday, always wait until the last minute. Did some calculations for next year and it appears my single status will raise my Federal tax bite somewhat, but nowhere near as much as my ex will have to pay. We intentionally planned the timing of our divorce so we could file married on our 2012 return.

Yesterday I moved both vehicles out of the garage and vacuumed the leaves off the floor, then powerwashed the salt and dirt off..found a small oil leak under my GMC...amazed me it has gone 13 years before an oil leak started. Going to go to the Transportation forum and post a query about that.

Balmy 72 here in ETX. It's actually darker down to the SSE than it is to the WNW... which is odd, because I know that's where the weather's coming in from.

Glad it's not going to get down as cold here as it is for you guys, jinman and txdon! Stay warm over there! (weird saying that in nearly mid-April )

Mornin' All, 60 now headed up to the low 80s. It's almost too much of a good thing. The warmth will cause everything to pop. It is hard to enjoy the spring when it moves so quick. I noticed the the first little bronze leaves on the poison ivy last week so winter clean up in the woods is just about over. I don't remember having to deal with so much dead wood. Anyway temperatures in the 80s make it too hot for my Carhartts and without Carhartts it's hard to battle the briars. Planning to pull the Snowblower that I didn't use.

1 cup of prickly pear cactus tuna (not tuna fish - those purple pear shaped things on cactus after the blooms)
1/2 cup cactus pads - thorns removes
2 cups water
2 oz raw agave nectar
