I used to love the M16 I had in the Army in the late sixties early seventies. I used to shoot the target stand so it would fall over instead of the target itself. Now, shooting at people, not so fun.
Mine is my old Remington #4 rolling block 22 Long and Short rifle had one when I was a kid and have ALWAYS like them. Have a few now and had a smooth bore barrel made for one of the take down models I have. That way I can use shot in it and get a good pattern out of her. Some day I would like to get one of those old long brass style scopes mounted on one think it would look cool. Well maybe it's just me!! Also shoot them if you got them!!
For 22 shooting, which I do the most of, I've got a S&W 15-22 that's a blast to shoot, then the Ruger 10/22 is almost as fun. For real entertainment, I like my Savage Model 11 in .223 for long distance targets.
My shot-guns get the most use between shooting skeet and bird hunting.I also have a bull barreled Ruger 10/22 that is deadly accurrate.I have been busy lately reloading for our center-fire rifles;luckly I had the components on hand.
For just fun plinking.....22lr all the way. Ammo is getting harder to find at times and prices have doubled but all in all it is still cheap to shoot compared to others.
Now that said, I like shooting ALL .22's. From a cheap heritage revolver and buck-mark pistols up to my tack driver bolt with scope that can shoot dime sized groups @ 50 yards. I also like the used mossberg 715t that I just got. Thats a fun little gun for popping off soda cans off the deck:thumbsup:
I also like archery cause its cheap as well. I can go shoot 50 arrows and when I am done I still have all my arrows so it didnt cost me anything:laughing:
