Have to replace bearings on rear axle and they're the press on type with a press on retainer. Old ones wasn't installed properly so I was able to remove with torch. Is there any way I can press on new ones without a press? Any home tool ideas? Thanks

Use a vice.

I've done it in a walkway between the house and garage. Both had cement foundations high enough up so I could put a bottle jack sideways on one side and the axle on the other. As long as the pump is on the bottom the jack will still work. A hammer would also work in a pinch but you risk doing damage so it would be a last resort.

Get some dry ice for the axle and put the bearing in a can of oil, heated to about 175 degrees. Should just slide right on.

I've done it with a big c clamp with a jack handle on the clamp handle for a cheater. Even using dry ice I learned some new curses. In the end it worked though. This was used with the bearing seating bushing like you would use properly in a hydraulic press.
