How many have concealed carry permit to carry a gun ?

Agreed, potential to get much harder exists. I have ND and Utah concealed carry permits. MN doesn't recognize ND's. Point being, consider reciprocity. Utah for example is recognized by 35 states and is easy to get. Florida and Texas have CC permits that are recognized by multiple states as well. Get what works for you!

OK - thanks guys ..I am going to apply for the license...I was hesitant like Dagoof because I did not want to add my name to the list either...but then I got to thinking about my Army file which has everything about me and all the weapons I qualified with...plus being a past MP and LEO...I mean, I suppose I am already on all the lists there can be...

Yeah, it can only get worse as far as the permitting process...and I am serious , from what I have seen in my part of GA...I don't want to be the only one that is not able to carry if I want to...I do not agree with open carry for a civilian...I think that is just asking for trouble, attention and adding to the grief of Police Officers...no reason for it in my book....

No , It was in another life...40 yrs. ago...that I was LEO and MP

I bet some things have changed but I still know how and when to shoot...

In our state you would not have to get a permit for retired LEO

My wife and I both have lifetime CC permits and since it may be difficult to get them in the future, glad we do.

Not sure of the laws in your state. In Connecticut it is a Permit to Carry. Concealed or Open. Check your state law. I have had a permit for over 30 years. Although because of my job, I am and will be after retirement able to carry with out one.
I recommend if you have a weapon wether you plan to carry or not get the license / permit what ever is needed for your state.
It will cost a few dollars but who knows what the future will bring.

In Texas I think the renewal is every year and that's what's been holding me back. Darn recert costs almost as much as initial and it's just another annual thing to remember to take care of.....Don't know that I would use it that much to warrant even having it.
