I know this has nothing to do with tractors, but this was my boss's new "toy", which was delivered yesterday. The blue Ferrari had to be unloaded first to get to his new Mclaren MP4-12c!
Nice car, but I'm just as happy with my tractor!!! I can only imagine the tractor stuff I could buy for the price of that car!!
I had to go to the airport this evening to pick up the Mclaren rep, so that he can do the actual delivery tomorrow!

Looks great. Is that a scratch on the front bumper?

I think I will stick with old farm equipment and hopefully soon a get time to build a replica of a Ford quadracyle.

I would go all over my boss about a raise. He should be in a good mood.

Material things are only material things.I don't envy your Boss, but just think how many meals could have been provided to a Homeless Shelter by the cost of that vehicle. Eventually, it will wear out and rust. So much for that. Just my thoughts.

Ahhh now, I don't begrudge a man his success.. Heck, I do agree you have to give back also, but heck if you are successful, nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your labor.. Me personally, my tractor is my main toy and it's a doggoned useful one at that. I also have a motorcycle. Both of those "toys" allow me to get away from the day to day stuff and enjoy nature..

Those fancy cars are a phallic symbol for the men who aren't shall we say "up to the task". Real men don't need those fancy cars. A tractor will do us for impressing people that matter.

Yes, I think I helped pay for that thing!!!

People that matter don't need to be impressed. They count on you and your worst fear is that you might fail them.

I wonder how many people he helped to employ by buying that "toy". Its a beautiful car, good for him!

Boss earned that car... I'm Glad for him/her. Speaking of meals... The OP and all his co-workers are eating and their families too! That counts for more than feeding the homeless and ilk a few times. Remember the saying , I'll paraphrase ... give a man a fish and you feed him a day. Give a man a job and you feed him for years.

Great to see. That's a fine automobile. Most of that price tag goes to their F1 team so I'm guess your boss is a fan?

I imagine we all spend money on "toys" of some sort, how someone spends their own money is of no concern to me.

I remember the jobs lost with the "luxury tax" on yachts and I think there is or was a proposal for one on luxury cars.

As to the manhood thing, you may be on to something, I'm in the market for a Prius.

Your suggestion may well be a better use of the money but my warped sense of humour kicked in and while the car will eventually wear out and rust, the meals will wind up down the toilet a lot sooner. just sayin :laughing:

Maybe the cars are a way of compensating for something.
