Is this show for real??

Sat down to watch a little TV tonight and as I was flipping I came across Amish Mafia. Not sure if I liked it or not, but like a train wreck, I couldn't turn away.
Don't know what that has to do with religion of any kind, but surely different and strange.

It must be real, they wouldn't put it on TV otherwise right? I'm mean shows like Gold Flush, Pawn Steers, American Nose -Pickers, and all them Storage Battles couldn't be any closer to reality could they???

Nearly every new show I've seen in the past 5 years is stupid! About the only shows I care to watch are Top Gear (the BBC one, NOT the American) and Dirty Jobs!

Dirty jobs is good. I like to watch Duck Dynasty, Holmes on homes, Mythbusters and the old ones you don't see on tv any more, like The Beverly Hillbillies and Casey Jones.

I don't know how I forgot Mythbusters!
I honestly tried to watch Duck Dynasty but it was too ridiculous to be believable. Two of them were "turkey hunting". They were cutting up and being stupid when lo and behold several turkeys show up on queue.
I exclude *some* sitcoms from the statement about TV being stupid.

I often compare the average (lack of) intelligence of the (voting) electorate to the popularity of TV shows and the personalities that infatuate them (voters)

they seem to go hand in hand...

BTW Duck Dynasty is one of few exceptions of the inane...

My girlfriend's kids love that show, they are hispanic and I'm the only real life country boy they know. I saw that episode and thought the same thing. Those turkeys wouldn't be within 2 miles of those yahoos.

I don't think any of the "Reality" shows on TV are "reality"...figments of a producer's imagination.
They seem to be pretty popular for some reason though...

I do LOVE the Brit Top Gear though as mentioned earlier.

I have not seen one episode nor will I. I have been working with and have been neighbors to Amish and Mennonite families over the years. Just because some pos can put up a show like that does not make it right.

I am of the understanding the Amish don't allow photographs of themselves. So, if they won't allow pictures taken, I doubt they'd allow TV cameras...especially since TV isn't in their agenda either.
So, the "stars" of this raggedy show (which I admit...never watched it) are probably paid hack actors.

Anybody watch Dual Survival? They replaced Dave with some new hot shot to go with Cody. I don't mind these shows....with Man vs Wild and such...but I can't stand all the commercials.

That was because Dave lied about his qualifications.
Wasn't Bear (Man vs Wild) the one they found out slept in hotels?
Survivorman with Les is my favorite.
