Thanks for the reply's. When I asked the guy today and he said Terramite, I Goggled Terramite and they look seems they where the 1st company to produce a backhoe??. I may just go with the other place for more $$, cant remember what the girl said, was like 590b or something like that, will call tomorrow. I'd rather spend the extra $85 and be able to get done.

You were right to pass on the Terramite. Good luck on your project and let us know how it goes.

In my opinion, they should pay you to take the Terrible-mite. The one I rented was 20 hp and not worth the fuel it took to haul it to my place. The guy at the rental yard tried to sell it to me for $6k and I just laughed. I am obviously not a fan. I see a lot of them in rental yards and I think they are popular because they are cheap and can be rented with a trailer you can tow behind a 1/2 ton pickup. They are the rental equivalent of Tony Romo: all the cost, but they choke when the going gets tough.

Jim,

Great Quote on Romo. I'd take Tebow or Sanchez over Romo, he'll break your heart every time.

It was great to get some rain this week along the coast .. now if the wind will stop blowing and warm up a bit I can get back to some projects instead of hanging out on the computer.

 Yep! Except for a half-dozen players (Witten, Ware, Austin, Murray, etc.) the whole darn team is mediocre and matches the coaching staff. However, Jerry Jones is not mediocre. He's just plain terrible: 16 seasons and one playoff win. But hey! Maybe he'll bring back Pacman Jones and Terrell "Popcorn Man" Owens. Kick out Jason Garrett and make Deion Sanders his head coach and put Chad Ocho 'Sinko' in the broadcast booth. They couldn't play, but they'd sure be a show to watch.:cool2:

Shoot Brandi!! DUH, since the "boyz" are out of the playoffs, Jerry Jones hasn't paid to mow the turf..Gee, thought you'd know that:D

I'm thinking the Sooners are ready to move the game out of Jerry's Taj Mahal and back to the old location. They sure had more luck in the Texas-OU game this year at the old Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. But then again, they weren't playin' against Johnny "Football" Manziel.

To show you Johnny's popularity, I went to Google this morning and typed "Jo" into the search block and it immediately offered me "Johnny Manziel" as its 1st selection in auto completion. When you are the #1 thing that comes to mind just by typing "jo", you know you've attained a high level of fame.

Johnny is a local from here. I don't know him, but I'm FB friends with his mom and it seems that a lot of my friends went to school with her and/or his dad. Very proud community!!!!!

Finally got measurable precip.... .63 inches over last several days of primarily mist. Exceptional drought continues.

have set live trap for Great Pyrenees dog that showed up 3 days ago. Full grown, not aggressive but neither lets me approach to feel for collar. Williamson County Animal Control/Shelter will take him, no charge. He's unclaimed by any of my neighbors. Anybody want him if I catch him?

Was wondering where he is from. Sure put on a show. Wikipedia lists his birthplace as Tyler but states that he played 4 years high school football at Kerrville. On TV he looked smallish ... but at 6' 1" and 192 lbs looks deceived.

I'm happy for you and your aggies Brandi.
Jerry wanted to build his stadium close to the fair grounds but our mayor ruined that chance, and ruined the cotton bowl. Its also just a matter of time before jerry and his money lure the Texas ou game over to Arlington.

Hey N Texans, it appears like we are going to get a good chance at some heavy rain Tue-Wed this week!! Dont know how far south it will stretch, but quite a few uf us may get "a piece" of this one:thumbsup:

From NOAA

Tuesday Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 49. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tuesday Night Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 43. North northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Wednesday A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

80% is a pretty shot at some good rainfall.

For those of you in the Houston area .... the MIC -- Meteorologist In Charge -- of the Houston National Weather Service office has retired. I was at his dinner last night. I retired 4 years ago and when I went back to say hi, I was surprised at how little change there has been in both personnel and equipment. You woulda thought in 4 years that there woulda been some thing improved ....but nope...same old stuff. Want better forecasts? Write your congressman. They aren't even back filling key positions in a timely manner in order to save $$. They need major upgrades in equipment that hasn't been happening either. Equipment upgrades were likely 5 years behind when I left. Considering the economic climate in D.C. right now -- there may not be any relief in sight. The vast majority of people in the office are all top notch though....just wish they had better support.

Interesting background. I use weather forecasts regularly and they guide some of the things I do outside. Wish they were more accurate and would like to see technology updates, but soooooo much better than they once were. I consider accurate forecasts and their timely delivery to be an important government function... part of our infrastructure like roads, dams, electricity, etc.

I'll try to avoid getting into politics, not my intent.

When people say just stop spending and get rid of the fat and pork/waste, this is the unseen almost invisible result of budget freezes and reduction. The one economics course I took emphasized you could use resources to make either guns or butter, that is, for defense or domestic products. If you spend a lot on defense then domestic products suffer.

Am sure we will hear many different versions of this tradeoff in the next several months and we need to remember that cutting domestic products results in lost opportunity to maintain/improve our domestic infrastructure....the effect is not easy to find, but is truly there. So, when writing your congressman, let him know which you want....more defense or more infrastructure in the USA.
