You may recall the Texas wildfires that occured on Labor Day in Sept 2011.
Over 1700 homes fell victim to the fires including mine. I was out of town when
the fire started. By the time I got back to town the roads leading to my house
had been blocked due to safety concerns. Ten days passed before we were
allowed back onto our property.

Everything had burned to the ground - nothing left. Home, work shop, decks, pool,
vehicles, and tractor - all gone.

We have since rebuilt and life goes on. We were truly blessed by our community,
our friends, our co-workers, and our families. Their support and donations helped
us to survive and to carry forward.

Here are a few pictures of my Mahindra 2816 that burned. Had less than 50 hours on it.
Last photo is of my new 3016 HST just got a couple of days ago. Life is good!

:welcome: to TBN!

The wildfires last year were bad. The drought just made bad matters worse. Sometimes, life is tough.
Sorry about your losses, but it looks like you're well on the way to recovery.

Whew, that has to be tough. I've thought about what I'd do if our home burned and the fact is that I wouldn't know where to start. But glad to hear that you seem to be handling it well.

The wife took it hard in the beginning but has since accepted it. You lose a lifetime of photos and keepsakes. But most things are replaceable.
The biggest lesson I learned was that of making sure your insurance policy is up to date and you have everything covered. I was under insured by around $100k. My house was covered but my shop, decks, and pool weren't. Plus I was way under insured on contents.
My advice to everyone - Please go over your policy and get it updated if needed. I had that on my list of things to do but waited too long.

What a drag. Every two or three years at the most you should review your policy with your agent, if you have one. Glad youare back on your feet. Nice new set of wheels.

Glad you were able to bounce back. The pictures of your burned tractor remind me of when my little Honda 350 motorcycle suffered a small fuel leak and caught fire while riding it and I had to hop off and drop it in the middle of the road and stand there and watch it burn. Afterwards your shocked by what little survives. Anything rubber, plastic is gone. That leaves pretty much just the frame, engine/trans and wheels. Sad.

I can't even imagine how tough that was. You have my sincere best wishes moving forward. Thanks for the insurance reminder.

Sincerely sorry about your losses. I tip my hat to you in regards to the way that you have endured and conquered. BTW, I just made changes to all our insurances policies last week.
