The year 2615 in the future! Sorry I couldn't resist. :)

Contact your dealer with a serial number and he can probably trace it down for you. Tractors do not have clear model years like cars. So you can find out when built and when first sold, but there is no registered legal year.

On my 06' 3215 there is a sticker toward the front right side on my engine that lists some engine specs. About halfway down the sticker it says "this engine meets 2006 epa regulations...". Also on my original battery there is a sticker that's dated May '06. This, although not as acurate as a serial number, may at least give you some idea of year assembled.

The manufacture date is incorporated into the serial number on Mahindras but I can't recall how to decipher it. Do a search on it, it has been discussed and explained before.

The date being incorporated into the serial number didn't happen until about 2005 IIRC. And it didn't happen to all models. That would make too much sense.

No, I just did the search back in the archives and found what I was looking for - The letter in the serial number designates what year it was made, at least on the 4110's. My serial number is 411 U03 0043. The U designates 2001 and if I remember correctly the 03 designates March. The 0043 is the actual production number. A "V" would be 2002, "W" would be 2003 and so on. I don't know what they did after "Z" or whether the other Mahindra models follow this method. This is similar to automotive VIN numbering so I would guess they might start back at "A" or perhaps go to a number designation for that particular digit in the serial number.

The 10 series was the only one to use that s/n scheme, and only on the early 10 series. I wish they would implement a standard decode-able s/n method across all manufacturing plants, but so far that has not happened. That doesn't mean we can't figure out the year built, but it does make it harder.

You can do that with some of the loaders... ;)

Stopping by in 2024 here to confirm what you said. My tractor has a "K" for the year designator and was made in 2016. If you start at W=2003 and wrap back to "A" after "Z", then sure enough, "K" = 2016. So obviously Mahindra is still using this convention and it is the same across models.

That works on TYM-built Mahindra tractors. Mitsu built use a different method, then the Mahindra built ones also have their system.

You said that back in 2012.
Thanks for this.
I have a 3510 Bought it used in about 2012. The only indications I had on age was from the wheels. which are stamped with a month and year.
The SN on mine is 3510 v12 xxxx, so December 2002.
Thanks
