I guess my age is catching up with me. I worked several hours with a maddock this morning, digging up some small brush that I couldn't get to with the tractor. By the time I came in, had lunch, and settled in to watch the ballgames, my upper back was killing me. I actually never even got the tractor out of the barn today. I figured it needed a little rest as well!
Maybe I need to do a bit more manual labor once in a while to stay in shape !

IMG_1155.JPGIMG_1154.jpgI think if it were me, those bushes would just have had to stay put. I had my LS out today moving all the rocks that I dug out with the B26 yesterday. The one I had to roll out like a tumblebug with the Kubota B26, I just scooped up with the LS. I ended up removing some soil from a hump in the pasture to backfill some of the big rock hole as I borrowed all the small stuff to increase the height of my creek crossing dam.
I also dug up 3 pine trees that were right in the middle of my creek crossing road. I backed into one of them while dumping some dirt and decided that this was the day to remove them all so I dont have to weave in and out to get around them. Have to take some phots of the creek crossing later.
I gave up on being able to dig out that huge rock that seems to go on forever.

The manual tools sure do not have the same joy they used to! Since I got the FEL I am not sure where the wheel barrow is any more!

I still know where my wheel barrow is since it is leaning against the wall right in front of my LS where it has been for 2 years. I doubt I will ever use it again, but who knows what the future might be. Whenever I want to dig, I get the back hoe, if I want to move heavy stuff, I get the LS, if I need to haul, I get the Kubota RTV. My shovel gets used only when wife wants to plant something in the flower bed. As long as I can afford diesel I will use powered mechanical equipment. I am pretty much saving my diesel powered lawnmower for the days when gasoline is no more and we all have to make biodiesel. I just might live that long at the rate the environmentalist are working to curtail our oil supply.
