Congratulations on the loan. Your place is looking beautiful. You should be very happy. Are you ready to move in and fire up the wood stove. Cold weather is coming Sunday.

I need to build two rows of shelves over the countertops. I bought a bunch of cast iron shelf brackets on fleabay that will go pretty well. I used a few under the shelf over the bathroom door:

I also will need to make some trim/baseboards for the island....and of course a brass foot rail.

The bank valued just the house at $175, so our loan is a go:applause:
Dang Rick! What can I say.............it's gorgeous. My question now is...........what will you do to top this?
hugs, Brandi

Love all the pictures, it's really looking great.

I forgot, is this going to be your primary residense? Where do you live now in relation to the land? On it somewhere else or are you commuting there to work on it? What happens to where you are living if this is going to be your main house?

Its beginning to look like home..great job. What have you done with the front door lockset? Is the island in its permanent location? I know you and the Mrs. are happy to be moving in.

Thanks dudes and dudetttes...the War Department is also pleased:laughing:

Eddie, we have been living in a 500 sq ft(14x30) apt in the back of our 30x50 quonset since 2007. It's about 150 yds away below is in the pasture. The log house is about at the top of the flagpole up on a ridge(old pic way before house was built):

Needless to say it has gotten very very small in the last couple of years. Half of the shop is full of stuff for the log house, so once we get all our "stuff" moved I actually might have a real workshop:proposetoast:.

Brandi this is a pinnacle...the rest will be ho hum:scratchchin:?

Mike, I found a neat primitive looking lockset on fleaybay and installed it. I like the look, but you have to grab a steel ring and turn it to open which we are not crazy about. I think some modification to a rustic lever is in order...a railroad spike maybe? I'll shoot some pictures......

I have never built one, so I started out with 10lb of counter weight....way too much. Two railroad spikes are about right:

Then the large pull out under the wall oven:
