Hi,
I'm Dave (new here 3 days ago).
I live in central NH.

About me (my tractor)
Me and a buddie had an old TX1304 (2cyl Iseki)
that I grafted a Meyers 7' power angle plow to.
It had a draw blade and dozzen of home made atachments.
A real "red neck" tractor.
A few years ago we traded it for a bass boat.
Buddie bought a MF 1528 (AKA new Iseki)

I missed the TX1300 so I bought a TX2140F (3cyl Mitsubutsi)
It has a FEL and Backhoe made by an English company Pollymark.

What do you have ?

Happy to have you Kevin - I'm a part time Mainer myself. I've got 90 acres of vacation wilderness in North New Portland that I do bring my Bolens up to on occasion.

I managed to get down to the tractor today to take a few more photos. I've got a call scheduled with Jim Ange tomorrow and will likely have this on a trailer and up to his place soon, so I am wondering how the backhoe disconnects. Now I only need to find the brochures that came with the tractor...

Welcome,
Last time I check Maine was New England.
I was starting to think there were only 3 of these compact TX Isekis in
all the New England states.

Were hoping to share info on these tractors.
We bumped into each other on a thread Andrew (NHmitch) started.

Clutch repair is done.

Just got my tractor back from Jim Ange.

Tractor Restoration Services, Complete Tractor Restorations & Repairs, Jim Ange, Sandown, NH, 603-361-0825

It's running great.
Jim came in right at $1500 best guess qoute.

Took him longer than he thought
Say this if the smallest "real" tractor he's ever worked on.
Tight space took longer than he expected.
Plus he had to rebuild (weld fill and bore out)
my clutch throw ot bearing carryer because it was so loose.
He believe thats what killed the arms on the presure assmbly.
He also made spacer shims for all the linkage.

The clutch has never felt this good.
Coste were about
$350 in parts
18 hours labor @ $65 hour

I notice in other listing you refered to your tractor
as Iseki TX2140 with Mitsubishi K3A engine.

Do you have a true Iseki 2140 or a re-branded Bolens?
Do you know what year you tractor was produced?

Mine (Iseki Tx2140F) also has the K3A engine
I'm under the belief the K3A/B engines were late 80s early 90s.
and were never used in a Bolens re-brand Gear transmision tractor.
But might have been used Bolens Hydrolic transmission.

I have a Bolens G154. The nameplate says TX2140F and it has the 3 cyl Mitsubishi engine and geared transmission.

Hi Dave,

Glad to hear about your tractor! I think that I am going to eventually need my clutch done too, so I will have to also give him a call.

This information and chart below help explain the Bolens/Iseki history, They stopped using the KE70/KE75 engines in 1981 with the horizontal stacks. I have one of the last built G154's from 1981, and then they switched engines. MY KE70 engine still runs like a litte tank. From buying parts off of disassembled tractors the only changes they made to the rest of the body was the new engines K3A, K3B, had longer hoods and the vertical pipes. The rest remained exactly the same on the tractors. This information is all from Sonnys Bolens:
It's in the name.
Example:
G174 G = gear drive
17 = horsepower
4 = four wheel drive

Thank Andrew,
I've seen Sonnys info many times,
But I've also heard guy say they have
Isuzu and 3cly Iseki manufactured engine in their Tx1300 Tx1500.....
I personal think they are confused.
BTW: My older 1300 had a K70.

His shop is nothing to look at but
he did good work for me.
My tractor was only in shop just a little over a week.

I don't know when it was made other than I am guessing it is from the 80s per the cart above. I do not know if there is a serial number guide to tell me what actual year. My exhaust stack is vertical and the top of it swivels if hit by a branch. I believe it can be mounted horizontal if you look at the manifold.

That is an impressive backhoe for the Bolens. My little G154 seems to be light in the front even when I have my tiller hooked up in the back, let alone a backhoe. How deep does it dig?
