Buying Advice 3720 Cab Or 4520 Open Station

yep...3720, 300cx, loaded with all options is pushing 40 so i'd like to know where to get the 4520 in the 30 range..?????

A new 4520 in the 30 range? Not around here. With hyds. (3rd,4th,5th) you'd be looking at $45K min. That of course would be BEFORE taxes.

We were able to get a 4520 with EH 3rd SCV, air seat, deluxe grill guard, 400CX loader, rear work lights, HD 73" bucket, & factory stereo right at the $38,000 range. ( I don't have the paperwork in front of me.) 4th & 5th SCV add $1200. (Do not have that option yet.) This is for ag use so it is tax exempt.

Prices may vary across the states.....

We deal with a small Deere dealer that works hard for their business and has the best prices around. I imagine the other dealers just are not able to go that low on the pricing so they can keep their doors open. Just a thought though.

That is just not great, that is a phenomenal price! The only way I could get that price for my new 4520 was to use the equine discount of 23%. Did you happen to use that or the dealer put that in for you? The only other way if you had an employee discount... 23% off of MSRP is tough for any dealer to make money on unless you are part of a program...

I did forget to mention this tractor was purchased with multiple other items. Whenever you buy a combination of certain pieces of equipment from John Deere, you get the "Green Fleet" discount if I remember what its called correctly. May be called something else. There was a $1,000 discount on our tractor whenever we bought it. I'm sure that program is still in effect, you just have to ask about it. It was a great price.

As I'm a new owner of a used 3720, I can tell you I'm very happy with the machine. We have a 3/4 mile long gravel driveway.....and I just finished blowing it with the JD 59". The cab is phenomenal.......hot blown air, wipers front and back.....made my cup of hot coffee seem irrelevant.

We have 35 acres.....though doing the same (leasing), with about 5 mowable. Our intention with this tractor is to do some farming, but starting out doing basics (snow removal, grass cutting).

The advice I received in the forums here was top notch....thank you again.

I can only say the same I really like the 3720 and also considered the cost difference in the implements for the 4000 series is much more expensive.

I'd recommend a cab regardless of which model you choose, especially if you can wait awhile and save for it. It's well worth the extra cash for all the previously-mentioned reasons. On the topic of cost, when I was shopping last year, I believe the sticker price for a 4520 with a cab and no other options was over $38,000. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a new cabbed 4520 for $30 grand.

I agree! A cab wil add roughly $6,000 to the cost of the tractor.

I guess its possible to get 4520 cab around same price if you get a ag discount with nothing else with it but what good is that. My mower deck was close to 5 grand. The costs ad up and when you ad a mower and loader, youll be over 40k. without ag discount, youll be around 45k

The exact cost of our tractor minus the loader, with the work lights, grill guard, & R4 tires was $32,446. Did not get the deluxe cab. But remember this is with the $1,000 discount when a gator was purchased at the same time.

We ended up getting a 4520 deluxe cab air seat rear wiper, rear lights, auto cruise , mirrors two sets of scv,400cx loader with lines for grapple skidsteer carrier and 73in skidsteer bucket. We also got a woods 74in tiller and 6' brush hog
