Using a BX as a mower/tractor

I have the smallest BX that was made the BX1500 and it amazes me what it will do. I use it exclusively as a lawn mower because it has the 4WD. They are made like tanks. The ground clearance and the HST fan is the basic BX warnings. I have never broke mine but a few on TBN have.

When Handirifle buys a BX , he will ( ofcourse ) wish he'd done his
research and bought a B2320 ......... ha ! ;)

Ok tell me why! I did look at the new one lotsa $$$ but they are nice, and that FEL alsmost takes itself off.

LB, seriously? 3 of them? Or are all three the same one?

I seee the "south of canton oh". I am from Ohio, born in Xenia (E of Dayton) and my sister owns a market south of Columbus (Rt 30 or 33 I forget which it is) and my brother lives about 10 miles from her.

B2320 ( .. and it's predecessor ) are a bit more tractor and a bit
less mower ( now I've upset a lot of good folk ;) ) . I would
have ago on both . In the US ( especially your neck of the woods
with many acreage properties ) it's not too difficult to come across
all these models to see and demo . Look at attachment possibilities too.
It's not just the prime-unit to consider with these things.

Here's a good read ; http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../185147-bx1860-vx-b2320-contrast-compare.html

Well, looking back at the post I see you said B not BX, and I see the difference. Now looking all this over, I am seeing the BX might sit muck lower than I am used to, for a tractor, and fine as a mower. That said, I do NOT want to diminish my tractoring abilities, and I am a little concerned about the low ground clearance of the BX, since I have needed the high clearance quite a few times.

One other issue came to mind, it seems I recall someone mentioning, in another thread, about the BX not being able to use a post hole digger? Putting up some large posts (most will be in the range of 20ft 6x6 posts) I will need something besides my back to dig the holes.

So , you want a 4x4 drive system & PTO power
where it matters . Now , if you can do without a HST drive and save
that money and look at a few other quality brands aswell ( Kioti etc ) there
may be something suitable . DO PLENTY of research before
buying this machine . I'd hate to think you've bought an excellent
mower , and not got the tractor that you need.

Well if i could buy over i wouldnt change a thing.
I love my bx25 as a mower, i take off the bh and fel in about 5 minutes for both. I wasnt sure like you about using it as a mower but i now am spoiled by the power steering, manueverability and how little diesel fuel it uses compared with gas in my craftsman mowers and the like.find the right deal on one and you will never look back:))

KIOTI - run ahead of the pack!

Yea this isn't going to be a rush purchase, for sure. I do not have the money for new, and once I decide the route I am taking it will be only when the funds are there and the right deal comes along.

Thanks for the links. I know the little MF1010 isn't a 40hp beast, but it does tractor very well for it's size. Do the BX's work with a 3pt post hole digger?
