Right now it is the law that people can't be turned away from emergency rooms if they are unable to pay. So people take their kids to the ER for an earache instead to a much more cost effective primary care physician.

Right now the insurance company has a great deal of say about the decisions you and your doctor make. You insurer may be benevolent but I have my doubts.

The reason we have healthcare reform is because the states and the insurance companies fixed the system to benefit the insurance companies, not the citizens of the state.

So Medicare is ok for elderly people but not for the rest of us? Why? So you can pay more for your insurance so the insurance company can make money on your healthcare? Out of principle? I admire people who will do things against their own best interests based on principle.

I suppose you do not earn a living wage...........

But then if you did, of course YOU would not have principles!

What about the people that think their "principle interest" are whats best for everybody else? I have had one set of parents, dont need another.

If the product is sold by Amazon then there is free shipping. The confusion is the other sellers who use Amazon. They might not participate in Amazon prime for shipping. However some do.

I was looking at nails for the nail gun. Amazon had them but they were shipped from another company so I had to pay shipping. The product was $30-40 but shipping was about $20. I was at Lowes which did not have the same brand of nails but they would work in my nail gun so when I need the nails, I will buy from Lowes.

I wish I could get a haircut on the internet.

Our downtown is doing ok. We have two barbers but a whole bunch of "hair salons" which really surprises me. How come the men can get buy with two barber shops but the women need four or more hair salons?

The two barbers I use are in their 70s and 80s. Not sure what I will do when they die. I think they will work until they fall dead at the chair. :thumbsup:

We still have our greeters here, although that may come to an end.

A couple positive things to consider.
1) They hire people who are physically and mentally challenged. That's good for the community.
2) Their employee profit sharing seems pretty generous to me. Coming in around 12.7% of annual pay for one part timer I know.
3) Employee discount 10%, even on food. Plus three pre Christmas vouchers for 20% off individual items. That helps when it counts.
Walmart isn't for everyone, but it's good for some.

I bought some Wahl hair clippers on January 12, 2000, at Walmart; haven't been to a barbershop since. Probably the best $21.96 I ever spent.:laughing:

And when we bought this house six and a half years ago, the young lady next door had a beauty shop or hair salon in which she worked part time. And it wasn't long before they were close enough friends that she does my wife's hair all the time, even after they moved about 5 miles away to a bigger house when their second child was born, and she quit working as a hair dresser.

we went up to our remote OZARK rock farm this weekend. had to stop at walmart in North Ark. and there was still a greeter. On the Sams' Club subject they claimed that several persons a day were caught by them , with errors in their baskets..So it is loss control about the double counting, even when you walk ten feet out of register to the door counter?

So on the other hand you think that giving them "free" (paid by mandated tax money by the working class) is the way to go rather than make them or giving them a choice to do so buy a more affordable alternative.

Right now my insurance company nor my doctor at this point doesn't have to go through a panel of goobermint accountants to decide whether its profitable or not to "allow" my procedures.

The reason we have health care reform as depicted by the obama administration is simply a power grab of individual rights and the eventual take over of individual choice.

Yes up until now we all paid for it so it better **** well be there when I/we need it. I have paid taxes in since I started work at 12 and also paid almost all my own insurance over the years so I know what it costs and right now it is skyrocketing thanks to the so called "health reform" bill principles my *** we already have more people taking out than paying in.

And one greeter told me the main reason he's kept that job is because of very good health insurance, both for him and for his wife.
