Buying Advice Farmpro 2425 Exhaust

Looking for an exhaust/muffler for a FarmPro 2425. Any one know a reasonable priced place to purchse?

We have them as well as almost every other part for that tractor,let me know if we can help .We have a online partstore or you can give us a call during normal business hours.

They had 2- types of mufflers, first one was a 2- bolt, second was a 4- bolt.If you had the 2- bolt muffler they are no longer avaliable you would need to buy a new exhaust 90 that has 2-bolt x 4- bolt.Don't forget the new gaskets

Just about any muffler with the same input diameter will work. They sell universals like that at the farm stores around here. Or is your problem with the pipe between the muffler and the manifold?

greg_g , how do you attach this universal muffler to the 2-bolt or 4- bolt flange ? Do you have a pic ? There is not a pipe on the Jinma or Foton tractor you can cut to sleeve a universal muffler on ? All the universal mufflers I have seen at Ag-supplys have a pipe that slides over a pipe and then you clamp it,

greg_g , how do you attach this universal muffler to the 2-bolt or 4- bolt flange ?

Little invention I like to call a welder. Cut the original flange off the damaged muffler, weld it to the new $30 muffler. New gasket ($2) and a rain cap ($8) would probably be a good idea too. Then you use something I like to call a wrench, and bolt the hybrid assembly back onto the tractor.

Beats the alternative of spending $125 or more for a Jinma replacement muffler and flange.

I do understand what Greg g is writting about but what about those that don't have that invention called a welder? Not saying the rebuild is a bad idea but it may cost more for someone to fab then just buy OEM from a reputable dealer like affordable or ranch hand??? I have modified my chinese exhaust so it has the rain flap, something I felt was needed, but then again I have the inventions that were mentioned Now if I could just find that darn blinker fluid I could install flashers on my wood/dump trailer:laughing:

I don't weld actually. When mine snapped, took the muffler and flange to the area Midas shop. They welded it up for five bucks.

The overall cost to cut a flange, go to a ag-supply buy a muffler,get some gasket material, cut out some gaskets, pay to get the flange welded on.would be more than a OEM muffler,

Sounds like you are stepping over a $ 100.00 bill to pick up a $ 10.00 bill

That doesn't fall very short of an accusation Tommy. I have no reason to lie about something as innocuous as a little welding. No, it wasn't this year, but it was on that KM454 that I traded only last year. The gas to drive to and from the Midas Muffler shop cost me more than the $5 bucks he charged me for the welding. Maybe we just do things a little different for folks here in Kentucky.

For folks other than Affordable, the following are indeed 2012 prices;
-farm store Ford type tractor muffler $24,
-flange $0 (use the one from your busted muffler),
-exhaust flange gasket $1 (I got mine at NAPA),
-nuts/bolts optional (assuming you didn't lose the originals),
-welding the old flange to the new muffler $0 (if you weld yourself) or prevailing labor rates.
Again, I suggest a muffler shop will be cheaper than a minimum hour charge at a welding shop.

A little time and work, yes. The bottom line is whether it's not worth the $125 or more (w/freight) you'd spend for a bolt-on Chinese muffler/flange/gasket assembly

greg_g, Have you ever put a Muffler on a Jinma 254/284 tractor ? How much clearance is there between the hood and OEM muffler? What about between the Hood and the loader arm ? How big is the ag supply muffler ? Do you think a Jinma 254 and a KM454 are close to the same muffler ?If you don't know these answers why would you try to tell somebody it will work, My gosh the OP needs a muffler for his Jinma 254 tractor.Glad he didn't need a motor we would be trying to find a foundry to pour a new block.Some people do not want to cut, weld, fab a part that is ready to buy off the shelf,that they can have in 3-4 days, install the 4- bolts and be using the tractor again.Sometimes you have to use common sense

For the members who are not Affordable, two of the four Chinese tractors I've owned were 200 Series Jinmas. I managed to avoid low hanging limbs with both of them, but not so with the taller KM454. That said, there's no mechanical difference between the two exhaust paths. What worked on my KM454 would positively have worked on both my Jinma 254s. That's common sense, PLUS personal experience.

You da man Greg_g ! The Ford muffler would not fit between the hood or between the hood and the loader arm ,but you never came up with that measurement.

If you could have fit that muffler, the body of that muffler would of had to have been above the hood of the tractor,I'm sure that was not the case on any of the 4- tractors you owned,

Business must be awful slow to create so many what-ifs over a simple muffler repair. I didn't have a loader on either Jinma or on the Kama. And to this point, the OP has made no mention of a loader either. Why not let the man simply decide for himself? Really, it may not need to be any more complicated than a repair or replace decision.

Ha Ha ," what if's" ?? you are the one that wanted to reinvent the wheel here, my business is great ,greg_g you don't give anybody credit for anything they do , they always don't do it right according to you. There are some pretty smart people here ,some guys that can make brackets, fab mufflers, build cars from the ground up .The point is there are the same amount that do not have that mechanical knowledge, tools, welders, shop to do this in.Thats why this board and the other boards was created to help those people,with simple easy to understand instructions.
