:laughing: One thing is for sure, theres a "party" going on somewhere. I cant imagine what someone would be thinking right now trying to soak in a win of this magnitude. I probably would have woke up in the hospital anyway if I had won, and the bill would have took up a good bit of it

My calculus teacher at college said his plan for the lottery is to make everyone a winner. You buy a ticket for $1 and you receive $.46 in prize money.:laughing: People voluntarily paid about $800 million in taxes for a chance to win it all. As long as you received a dollar's worth of enjoyment it was a good deal.

Somebody's life is changed forever. I wish him/her the best.

What I find stupid about these huge lottery jackpots is that it makes little sense to pay just one winner 640 million bucks...change the system so they will pay 100 people 6.4 million bucks instead. Nobody NEEDS such a huge sum of money, better to spread it around.

Lottery is gambling...even this big lottery is being split 3 ways now (at least...may be more to come)
Doesn't matter if it makes "sense". Very little gambling makes sense.
So, I'd leave it like it is...

The ticket sales would not have been 1.5 Billion for this drawing had in not been for the jackpot being over 1/2 Billion Dollars. After taxes the "system' is about a billion ahead. The is big business and looked on by the people as a Happy Tax.
