Glad to see that you are watching and have the feed ready as they come North. Hopefully the scouts will spot them and pass the word around about the free food and rest stop.
Most of the watchers seem to be stuck watching them go South and can't seem to get turned around. I tried to leave them a gentle reminder but they all ignored it so I figured a new thread going in the proper direction was in order.
We have had feeders out for a few days. No sign of them yet. We have had some cold, windy and rainy (with a bit of snow mixed in) weather the past few weeks so they might just be waiting for it to warm up a bit.
Actually Hummingbird Migration Maps
shows the ruby throated humming birds have started to arrive in southern Ontario this week. Just in the last few days, there have been a lot more sightings all across Ohio.
we been watching but so far no birds my wife puts out 4 feeders i love to sit on deck and watch them fight over a spot on the feeder 1 problem we do have with them is my garage is about 50 yards from feeders and if i leave doors up they fly in and won't go out and the sealing is to high to catch them so they die
Here in Western PA I always put the feeders out on tax day - 4/15. they usually show up a few days later. The Juncos are almost gone, so it's time for the Hummers. No real winter this year anyway!
No hummers here yet. I raised my cleaned Purple martin house saturday, and two sparrows promptly started a nest. Sunday I lowered it and removed sparrows..Leave it down until i see scouts?
I haven't seen any of our little friends lately so guess they have all headed south for warmer climates. Keep the feed dish full as they may be hungry.
