I had to post this....Really Bad Accident...Wake up call to all of us.

I am just posting this because a friend of mine emailed this link to me to show me just how fast it can happen. I thought by posting this everyone could see how devastating and fast this crash happened and those of you that have young drivers ...it might be good to sit them down in front of your computer and let them see this....just might save their lives...

That was bad!! I have had to work those types of accidents and it's not fun.

One way to point out being "prudent" when driving in less than good conditions is important, but people over estimate their skills and conditions everyday. I have been in worst weather and people just fly by like there in sunny Palm Beach.

So many families will be effected by this one tragedy. I would bet the driver taking the video will, for the rest of his life, think about his driving.

I have a phrase when driving in sketchy conditions. I say " I'm shuttin it down" Meaning I'm dropping my speed way down and sticking to the right lane and not moving out of that lane or going even the speed limit in bad conditions.

Hopefully my daughter has seen me do this enough that she "gets it" .

This accident could have been a combination of bad conditions, talking or texting on the phone, of just plain old fashion going too fast for the conditions.

On the positive side, the driver didn't feel a thing or suffer one bit.

Only thing about the far right lane is the water that can pool up if it doesn't drain properly. I had to drive a sketchy road (even when it is sunny) on Friday evening and it was pouring. Some jackleg was passing cars in the oncoming lane (2 lane road) and I had to just about slam on brakes to avoid hitting him.

Looks to me like everyone is going about the same speed, including the car taking video. Probably all going too fast for conditions, as the loss of control of all involved happens in a flash. I've seen those days, when most traffic is literally pushing the envelope on slushy snotty surfaces, and I either back way down in the right lane or get off the road (or at least the interstate) if at all possible. I've always been chicken and now I'm cautious too....and even at that I've come close to bad situations.
