Hows the 262xp run compaired to say.....a 6400 or a 361 which I am more familiar with? Stock for stock of course. I also had a 266se prior to it being stolen. It was a real strong runner too. About comparable to the 6400 or 120si

Husky 262xp is a over rated saw IMHO. Lot of people like them, I just dont like the feel of them. They cut ok but my poulan 3750 60cc open port cuts right with it. I like the 361 with MM alot better over the 262 and yes the 262 was MM too.
Stock 362xp and a stock 365 SP will eat the 262 lunch. Then the 365 SP will take the 362XP in torque in the cut.
I've been TOLD by a 6400 and 365 owner his 6400 is better for him in the cut.

Never ran a stock 6400 or 120si to tell you.

I had a 365SP a couple of summers ago.

One of the saws I bought from a pawn shop to "flip". That and a 272xp. I never really ran them both long enough to know what was faster.

I know I guy that has the 570 husky, and between it and a stock 6400, there isnt a lot of speed difference. Hows the 570 compair in the mix in your opinion. (besides it being overweight). Talking about speed only. 570 vs 365 or 570 vs 361

I owned a like brand new 570 and did speed cut test. My 365 SP was all over it in cut times. No contest.

Didnt own 361 and 570 at same time. 2 different saws by PHO weight and 59cc to 68cc too.

The 570 couldnt get any closer to new.

Was only used for a stock saw competition and was the 1st place give away saw. I traded for it.

I did some hardwood rip cuts with it testing etc. With 570 weight and cc size it belongs to the 6400 365 415 not against the smaller 59cc to 62cc saws. The 570 had more torque in the cut from what I remember against the smaller saws.

The 570 is not a bad saw IMO. Especially for the ~$600 pricetag. And the new makita/dolmar EPA 6400's like the makita 6421 came with a $100 jump in price. That makes the 570 one of the top contenders in the ~$600. About the only negative I see to it is the weight. But honestly, when I was cutting with my buddy and we swapped for a bit, I didnt notice much difference between the 6400 and the 570.

Not sure where the 365 runs, but I'd venture a guess @ $~700 range.

The only reason I keep comparing it to the 361 is simply because of price. To get a stihl of similar size/power to the 6400/570, you have to jump to the 441 to the tune of ~$200 more. Stihl doesnt really have a saw to compair to the 6400. Because for the same price, you get the smaller 361, and for $200 more, you get the bigger 441. But if you had $750-$800 to spend on a saw, why in the world would you not get a 7900:thumbsup:

The new 365 x-torq with 18" or 20" 70.7cc same as new 372 out the door $560 and $570.

Older 365 65cc were closed out at $499 PHO back awhile ago.

570 was a good saw IMHO too. You could bolt on the 575 topend on it too. That is all the 570 is really with smaller bore p+c with standard filter instead of 575 high top.

The new 570 is autotune:thumbsup: i have both, 570 autotune and the 575XPG, the 570 is a much better saw, only draw-back is it doesn't have carb/handle heater.
