Guys,

Below are the pictures of the new 2012 4520 rig. I really liked my NH Boomer 3040, but I cannot believe how much beefer the 3PH, FEL, SSQA and Bucket are on the 4520. In addition, my Boomer 3040's Shibaura N884L engine smoked like a demon at only 18.2 hours; filled the whole barn with diesel smoke. Starting the JD PowerTech is really clean and smooth. Enjoy!

Eagle- very nice. Just out of curiosity, what prompted your decision on Turf's vs R-4? I have turfs on my 3320-that I bought new and it was my primary mower at the time-since then I bought a Z-trak from one of my kids-so I don't mow anymore. I recently bought a 4720 with 200 hours. It has turf's and I'm thinking maybe I would be better off to see if I can't swap out with someone.

Mowing will NOT be its primary duty.

Seriously..... This does nothing toward helping me be totally satisfied with my current tractor :)

What is the purpose of the orange lever to the left of the seat? My older 4720 cab doesn't have it. And, BTW, very nice!

The upper one is the range selector, the lower one is the parking brake.

Hopefully, its the parking brake- I very quickly discovered on my 2007 4720 that the previous owner had bent the cheesy push/pull cable set up- very poor design IMO

Well every NH tractor my dad and I have owned since 1981 always had turf tires. My grassy areas are fairly wet so the R4s do too much damage. Around the house I use the Scag, then in the back 40 I use the Woods PDR8400 to cut 12 acres plus trails. Never really had any issues using the R3s snowblowing, mowing or doing loader work back in the woods, so I stay with them; they work for me. However, they are not good we when you get suck or going through some real soupy areas. In your picture, I can see why you would need/want the R4s, my wooded areas are grassy so I get decent traction.

Thanks guys for all the tractor kudos! I do have one issue. The seat does not go far enough back for me and my uncle; kind of tight with the legs. We moved the seat back to the rear mounting slot on the rail and it made things a little better. However, I went over to my dealer to speak him about it today and he is going to look at the seat mount. He believes they can move the mounting plate back another 1" or 1 1/2". Other than that, everything has been tested and works great!

Wow I hope to do exactly what you did one day ... currently got the 3040. May I ask what the upgrade cost (net of the trade) ?

It was about ~$20k to upgrade from the Open Station Boomer 3040 to a 4520 Cab.

Very nice. You'll love the cab --- warm in winter, cool in summer, always dry, great if you have allergies, protected from hornets, and etc. Nice pictures. Let the fun begin.
