Hats off to the operator!:thumbsup: Cab cam has him looking with nerves of steel! Give that man a raise when he gets the machine back on the ground and maybe even a beer.:thumbsup::thumbsup: The announcer on the ground . . .well he's not the most intelligent person i've seen standing under that machine. Really says something for their equipment. . . . John

Look at this video.
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OotUZxt4ivI&feature=related]Menzi Muck A71LMC - YouTube[/ame]

The backhoe has a winch built in so it can tether itself. Fish farming is a one of the largest industries at the place I am originally from. Menzi Mucks are used to repair the dams even from the water side because of their ability to operate at steep slopes, in deep water and mud.

I present the Herzog Cartopper. I dont even know how this thing is legal. Its one hydraulic breakdown away from a disaster. Where's OHSA?

Did you watch the video?

A failure in the boom/stick or loader hydraulics will make that thing come crashing down from height, FAST.

Im going to assume that the lines are checked, but there is still the possibility of failure between the cylinder and the check. The cylinders appear to be the standard Cat cylinders .

Then there is the whole balancing on the backhoe bucket to load. Or the possibility of Pin failure. Its not a real safe system IMHO.

Would it end in a "OMG hes dead" accident, not likely if hes wearing his seatbelt... but it sure wont end well for his underwear.

There are much safer options like this one from Brandt.

The last picture from scooby is of a Brandt truck and a 120 c john deere(tracker) with a set of tie togs. The tracker on our gang uses a magnet. The tracker is designed to ride on the truck, only from the trailer to the tracks. The truck then sets on the tracks, backs up to the cars, the tracker is raised up on the platform and the tracker moves onto the car.The tracker moves back and forth by hydraulic motors. The long walking beam allows the machine to be positioned anywhere on the car. There are hydraulic clamps that clamp both the beam and carrige, 4 on each side. One set of clamps are always clamped to the car. Both ends of the beam or both on the carrige. Total weight of truck= 70,000 lbs, machine is 34,500 lbs.
Plus the weight of trailer. Need permits when we travel to a different place.

It's Austria... I'm sure he had a beer before he started...

I was always surprised to see the bricklayers and construction workers drinking beer at lunch... even the BMW factory workers get free beer at lunch... the company does track it with a swipe card... one beer no problem.

My brother is a cabinet maker. When visiting his business I saw guys drinking beer during the break. Breweries in Europe make low alcohol beer just for that purpose. It is made for local market only due to low shelf life.
Needles to say every single guy has missing at least part of a finger. My bro included.
