Robbie, I added the music afterwards while editing the video. The original footage was over an hour in length so I edited it down to less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately my dozer is just open rops with a G.R. Manufacturing forestry cage added. No radio, no A/C, No ventilation system, No bells or whistles of anykind.
Ken45101, I'm with the state forestry service, and yes it beats doing it by hand. However I probably have one or two fires a year that require some sort of hand suppression efforts.
Fishfactor, we get as close to the fire as possible. We have a little saying "one track in the black". Naturally though as flame lengths get taller, we have to increase our distance from the fire to avoid the radiant heat as well as the flame. We make sure to clean the belly pans annually to avoid fires within the tractors and any kind of leak is addressed immediately. We still have probably on average of a tractor every other year get burned up for various reasons.
Yellowdog and jamesn, Thanks for the compliments. I'm going to do my best to make another video this year. I hope to be able to get some good footage. February, March, and April are usually our busiest months.
