Took advantage of the great fall weather here in the Mo Ozarks, and got some great seat time. Started thinking - at my age (69) - this is more fun than I would have had if I owned a Corvette Convertible !

I live not to far north of you, I didn't get the chance to get my tractor time in today since I slept through it... HAHAHA!!! I work nights so my Saturday is usually shot for me. I plan to get a lot of seat time in tomorrow!!!

Actually, my brother in law who just turned 62 bought another new Corvette convertible a few months ago and I know I have more fun on my tractors. I just spent the day working in the woods hauling dirt and rock.

I told my wife that I need to get a Corvette because I'm starting to have a mid-life crisis... She said that that's fine because she's starting to go into menopause. I turned around and walked away.

Yep, I got a couple and my wife has one, so we're both pretty happy. When my wife retired she took over the 2660.

I left my wife very specific instructions about how to move mine when it was in the way in the garage. It was still in the way when I came home that night. She wouldn't touch it. Still hasn't after almost 3 months.

Now that I'm ripping it apart to fix my mower deck, she calls it "the other woman". At least she hasn't said anything about "a woman scorned" yet.

I try to get my wife to operate my tractor and she won't go near it. She said "It's your toy and I will stay away!!!" She calls it the Great Pumpkin...

This last summer my neighbor bought a 2003 commemorative corvette (very nice and powerful). I bought a BX 24. I think I had the bigger smile.

I've gotten so excited about each impliment/additon I've bought. Kind of reminds me when I first got into sport cars. I love sports cars (I track my NSX) but this is where I am now. Guess it's a little of "been there done that" for that world. I'm kind of think that resale values for tractors may be better than for the average sports car.

Dug up a stump the other day using my Bro-tek tooth! Anybody need a trench dug?!!! I love tractoring. And there's still so much to learn and do.

I feel qualified to comment as a Kubota and 62 Corvette owner...

Sadly, the Corvette has not been out for over a year and the Kubota at least several times a week...

If I could only keep one... right now it would be the Kubota... too many projects in the pipeline although the Corvette is the darling of my nieces.

I've had several Vettes and I agree. I was tired of getting tickets.

My dad always says that they didn't make a Corvette after 62. There really isnt a better looking one to me. The exposed headlights were it man. My best friend and his father both had convertible 01's. Since I work on them I had unlimited use of them. Got that out of my system. I would much rather drive my pickup truck. I definetly get a bigger kick out of running my tractors. The wife says I'm old far beyond my time at 36. I say at least I won't be wanting a sports car at my mid life.

I wouldn't mind to get a Corvette but I won't do that until my youngest son goes off to college. At least then... My wife and I can enjoy our time together alone!!!

You know.. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 with the Hemi in it and I love it!! It's fast and I can pull my tractor with it... It's the best of both worlds!!!

I don't know about the sports car in my future but right now I would have to agree to your comments.

I have a ~450 hp Dodge Ram/Cummins and it will haul ***** and the tractor at the same time if I want to!

Reminded me of a conversation I had as a young man. I was stationed in WA state (AF) and worked with a guy that bought some land way out in the middle of no where. He had to bring water home from work and only had a wood stove to heat his trailer. He explained that he loved living out in the wilderness, could shoot deer from their front door, walk to streams to fish and saw wildlife every day.

I asked how he found a girl to marry that liked that kind of life style and he said "why would I marry one that didn't"

I never forgot it. Very wise!

Very wise indeed. My wife and I met when we were fifteen, but before we got married at the age of 21, we sat down and had a very long talk about our expectations. While love must certainly be present in a relationship, it doesn't count for much without compatibility.
