Well after some time my brother's tractor finally arrived, you could almost see his smile inside the cab. After looking at many different tractors and shopping with him he decided on a John Deere which I can't blame him even though I'm partial to blue ;-) the new Holland didn't come close to the interior of the John Deere I believe it has 50 hp and a best part of all a front mounted snowblower a little overkill considering its Hydro pack and the price of the thing but John deere made some money with him LOL , he's maintaining less than 200 foot driveway but he is getting older and he's tired of the garden tractor fighting the upstate New York winters. I'll be really curious to see how it works with heavy snow it seems as though it spins quite fast and it has a lot of torque and power I guess we'll just have to wait and see if anyone else has experience with these units I'd like to hear I can pass information on to him thanks. Take care

Good choice on the tractor and cab. I have similar setup but have snow plow instead of the front hydro snow blower. Your brother will be smiling a lot more every time it snows and he has to move it. Good luck.

Wow nice...talk about over-kill for a 200ft.driveway!

Nice rig.
Curious if the rear attachment is a blower? for leaves or leaves and snow?

Also, curious about the hyd. hoses entering the top far corners of the snowblower. Are they going to hyd. motors on the auger?

nothat's not a leaf blower it's part of the snowblower it's A hydro pack basically a big tank of oil and a pump driven off the 540 PTO to make power for the snowblower augurs

I think that is the nicest blower setup for a 200 foot driveway I have ever seen.:) If there is still time I think I would pave the driveway too.

Justgot back from his house he lives up on the corner of the family farm i told him to make himself a new account and introduce himself I'm sure he'll get to it someday there's a lot of good advice on these forms . The driveway turned out to be almost 300 feet with the backyard included which he keeps clean so he can get to his outside wood boiler, i still think it's a little over kill myself considering i take care of a 1500 foot driveway and backyard with my rear snowblower, if it really works i might be interested in getting one someday probably made by different manufacture but the same principle he will be our guinea pig this winter of course i told him it's not going to snow now especially with a new piece of equipment like that take care

Hey Radium,

Well your brother has one beautiful setup there.. I being from the snow capitol of NY I can only imagine to spend that kind of $$$ on a tractor/snowblower combo you guys live in Oswego, Jefferson or Lewis county.. LOL :D

That's a setup all John Deere owners dream about..

Nice....

Tell your brother Congratulations on that sweet tractor.

Nice rig...... I have a loader mounted blower for mine also. I'm getting older myself and after 16 years of driving backwards i said....enough. I have about 600 feet +/- of driveway, 2-60' sides of snow runoff from the horse Barn and now 2-1/2 miles of association roads. Now well have to compair winter notes .

Thanks for all the good wishes guys I'll pass them on to my brother, I can just about see his garage from my living room window all his lights are on he's probably waxing it ;-) unfortunately the weather is not cooperating it's been heavy rain storms so no seat time he's probably driving in circles in the garage Lol. quite the setup on that tractor grsthegreat I'd love to do that myself someday, but trying to sell my rear snowblowers is next to impossible it's one of my biggest regrets nothing beats going forward. How would you say that front mounted loader snowblower handles deep snow? do you have an oil cooler or is the air temperature sufficient in the winter to keep it cool, his tank has a thermometer built on the side i'll try to take some better pictures of it close up so everyone can see it I was quite impressed with its construction. take care

Radium,
If your brother lives close enough you can see his garage I don't think you are going to have any snowblowing problems this year.:D I don't think he will get his tractor fully warmed up before he is through plowing his driveway. I bet he will want some seat time on your driveway.

Now that's funny I didn't even think about that ! To tell you the truth I'm just happy that he will no longer need to borrow my tractor to move things now that he's got a loader of his own thank God :). Take care

I would suspect that is his intentions anyway, with that rig I bet this will be one of his pet projects and give him something to do during the winter. I would be quick to chip in for the fuel too.;)

Well there is a oil cooler available, but the manufacturer told me not to get it for snow removal. Its only needed if i use the tank to power implements like a loader mounted post hole digger in summertime. Apparently its not needed in the cold of winter. Mine holds 55 gal of hyd oil.

I will find out how it handles this winter. I don't plan on letting the snow get too deep anyways as I'm now plowing the association roads and they need to be done very early AM. I probably wont be working this winter anyways as bad as the economy is, so i hope it snows good HEHE.

I also have a front loader mounted snow blade for lighter snows (less than 6")
