BX cruise control. Do you use it?

Anyone use the cruise control that the BX is outfitted with? So far I have not had a use for it.

I've used it to go up and down the drive way and lane .Do you
find it doesn't lock to the speed you were doing when selected
but rather it goes slower ? Maybe it's an adjustment somewhere
that's a bit slack .........

I installed one on my BX23, and yes I use it. Gives the leg a rest on occasional long hauls in low gear on rough paths. Use it when mowing too.

My B3030 wouldn't hold when set, called dealer when it was new, he wasn't any help, there is a threaded rod with two nuts locked to each other located along side the right rear tire, I adjusted it, still not holding, but it was better, I removed both nuts and inserted a washer to gain more spring tension, now works great. I have used it when mowing, but have read it's main purpose is when using swing brakes, I read that when using both brakes it disconnects cruise and I tried it, it does. Also read lock either wheel alone and it will not disconnect, haven't tried it, makes sense, otherwise why have swing brakes on a hydro.

I used mine alot when I first got it for mowing and tilling. now I don't and only time I use it is running down the road with BX.

i have not...however, i am still amazed and having fun with HST drive versus my gear drive i was used to...

I only use it occasionally, and this is why...

I don't use it for finish mowing but I do use it for brush hogging. At my age holding my foot on a hydro pedal in the same position for six or seven hours will cause my right leg to cramp. It would be the same as holding an accelerator at the same position for six or seven hours on a car or truck. Staying the same position for many hours is uncomfortable. The cruise control allows my legs to be free and I can move around in the seat before rigormortis sets in.

I use any time that I drive Jinny over to my friends places. They live about 1/2 a mile away so it is a foot saver.

I used it once right after I got it and the cheezy little pot metal "dogs" broke, so I figured it wasn't worth trying to keep it fixed. have always aimed to make some out of steel, but was never a very high priority.

I have had my BX2230 for about 3 weeks now, but still haven't gotten an owners manual. Does mine *HAVE* a cruise control? I haven't figured it out if it does.

Hi this is exact whats holding me to buy a BX. I use a Iseki with manual gear to spray my crops (strawberries). I can set the speed exactly right (have installed a bicycle speedometer on it). e.g. 1800rpm in gear 2 get me to the correct speed....the correct amount of fluid (nothing left at the end of the field)
Can the cruise control be used in the same way?
