I had an older cub that did the same thing turned out to be a bad coil.

1720 CADET stops running after getting warmed up,checked fuel filter and replace ignition module.

might also be plugged vent in fuel tank cap starving engine. run with cap loose to check.
Have you checked for spark present right after it quits? Absence of same might indicate a failing coil as already mentioned....

I put a new coil on new plugs, and have since found that it is gas related,as long as i squirt gas in carb it stays running.I took the gas cap off, didn't help.So now I am looking into what I assume is a fuel pump.

based on what you say now, would expect a dirty carb.

to test fuel pump, pull spark plug wire off, disconnect fuel line from pump to carb at carb. crank engine, catch pumped fuel in jar.
If good fuel stream, remove/dissassemble/clean carb using rattlecan carb cleaner and small gauge stiff copper wire to clean all orifices including jets. Blow same out with compressed air. Reassemble using new rebuild kit for that carb. Do not re-use old gaskets.

Also ck/replace fuel line(s) from carb to tank as needed. Make sure fuel filter is installed in correct direction.

Thanks for all the info on my problem, I will do the things you suggested and hope for the best.

forgot to mention... use a magnifier when cleaning carb - some of those carb fuel passageways are small, indeed.

ms one low impact thing you can do is disconnect the fuel line and blow some compressed air through it into a clean rag...the rag is to verify that the line had debris in it.

I had that same problem in our 1440.
