Beautiful! I've only seen owls a couple times.
Once when I first got my new house, I had staging set up and was doing some work in the late afternoon, I looked over and there was 2 young owls sitting on the other end of the staging. Saw them for a couple days after that in the yard but never seen any since.
Another time I was walking on a snowy night, very dark out, when I felt a swoosh over my shoulder and heard a little commotion on the snow covered ground, then all quiet again. The only thing I could think of, was it must of been an owl swooping for prey??

What a great picture!!
Gizmo, it was about 4:30 in the afternoon. They usually start coming in around 3pm. The parents usually will use the large trough in the back yard I put out for the deer ( the deer where knocking the bath over for water) i will try to get a photo of them on the trough. I have seen the young'ins at the trough to, but always accompanied by mom or dad.
The one in the photo has been spending allot of daytime hrs sitting in an Oak tree over my daughters room, dogs even stopped barking at it:laughing:
