I have an old allis chalmers. It was my grandpas. Might buy another one with a bucket.

It has a crank in front, I am scared to start it lol

We had one like that when I was growing up, you are right to be afraid. Those darned things can kick back.

Good point! I bought a skid steer thinking it would improve my versatility but after 30 minutes in it I realized #1, I am a tractor guy and #2, skid steers are not versatile in the ways I need. In the smaller versions they offer only limited options compared to the much larger versions but then you don't have the small machine foot print. Two completely different animals but both have arms that lift!:D

Similar situation here. We thought we would really like a skid steer even though we already had a couple of tractors. My son bartered with his friend and we had a Bobcat 854, I think, for a couple of months. They are great for some things, but one of my sons hated it and I spent a lot of time repairing the damage from the tracks.

My other son liked it, but it rode really rough and it took a long time to get from point A to point B. We decided it just wasn't for us. Of course if money was no object we would buy one.

We wound up buying a new tractor and if we need a skid steer will rent it.
