Boy it does make the 110TLB look small. Must be the angle, front tires look set REALLY wide!

Winter in Alaska comes real early, why wish for it sooner? I am Sure you have a lot to do before it hits.

Yep.. I added front wheel spacers and had all the wheels set out nearly as wide as possible! Planning to work with big rounds and want to have a stable lift platform.

Winter does come faster than I'd like... just whining 'cause I'm trying to get too many things done at once! Oh well; I'll sleep when I die! :D

AKfish,
I take it you went ahead and opted for the better rear hydraulic setup we talked about at the last minute? I suspect that was a good choice.

It was surprising how close the price was... the final price for t
Long story - short. If you're looking at a 4000-5000 series machine; you can get into a M series for not alot of additional money.

Standard cab, 553 or standard 563 FEL, standard hitch, shuttle tranny, no wheel wts, etc., etc. the price can drop by $4,000 or maybe $5,000 real fast!! You still have the advantage of the more capable hydraulic system, more HD 3pt system, and much heaver rear transaxle than the 5000E models, too.

I tell ya - all the prices I have seen down here are the M is $10K more than an E.

Yah, yah... I'm already looking forward to winter! I don't think I've had 8 hours of sleep per night for the past month!! :(

Anyway... here's a few. I want to get some "grass stains" on it! Used it today to set rafter's - construction dust! It's not the same!

Heres my 5085M, On the second picture of yours I don't have a pin there so my front weights all flew off when I did a quick 3 point turn! I also got some crow **** on my seat today almost sat in it..

Darin; I was tryin' to remember all the quotes I got from dealer's... I wanna think the difference was around $9K. That would have put the 4720 @ ~$52K not $54K.

That's what I found thru my dealing's - a 5000E was right in line fairly close to a fully decked out 4720. And if you dropped your "wish list standards" a notch or two with all the options available on the M series - you could be sittin' in the driver's seat of an M series for a difference of $5-6K!

Now, that's for a 5075. The difference between a 5065M and the 4720 was a couple of thousand less than that - which is why I went forward with an M series machine. Of course, the equation changes when you move up to the 85-95-105, too.

I must have missed the front wheel spacers in your "buying it" post. That explains it.

Righto

I have a 5525 now and I don't know if I could go down to an E. I think I would have to buy the M for the ergonomics. Then with the tougher frame, etc., I bet I could "justify" it. :)

The best part on the 4520 is the transmission. For close up work and inexperienced drivers it is pretty hard to beat. Punching holes with a post hole digger with the 4520 is a breeze.

Nice tractor - bale any hay with it yet?

The cab layout is well done. Everything is right at hand. There's seven (7) controls for the air seat! The swivel feature is great.

No hay just yet. Too early for up here - one cutting a year mostly. If you ever get 2 cuttings; you'd better climb off the tractor at the end of the field and kiss the ground!!! :D

The contractor that's helping me put the pole-shed up commented that the tranny on the M (PowerReverser) is "just like a forklift". I didn't put that observation together but he's spot on..

For close in work though; you have to be very good with the clutch! eHydro and cruise control would be somethin' with these tractors! Of course, if I did alot of heavy ground engagement work - plowing, heavy disc harrow - then the eHydro would not likely be high on my list.

congratulations one sweet looking tractor :), you and I have communicated in the past before about these tractors and I tell people the same thing for a little more money you can almost get into the larger frame tractor people just can't believe it but it is true. With that being said by the end of the summer I'm hoping to pick up a 6000 series dealer demo I originally looked at the 5095M but after equipping it with all the options I can get the larger frame 6000 nearly $3000 more of courses a demo with about 45 hours who cares warranty like new take care and enjoy that tractor especially with the wind blowing and snow flying everywhere take care

Nice rig! I knew you were going to like it.

No hay here either. Normally, it would be time for our second cutting. Just not enough rain. Our fourth year of below average rainfall and this is the worst. We did get 1.3" yesterday. I hope that we can get one cutting, at least.
