case 585 won't go into gear

I stopped my tractor and when going back the next day it will not go into gear. It is a case 585 with manual 2 range 4 speed and shuttle shift. Basically it will not engage in any gear forward or reverse. Sometimes when I go to start it the starter is off and I move the shifter and then its fine and catches. I topped off the hydraulic fluid.

Naturally this happened when cutting hay and now I have 1/2 of the finest crop in years and can't finish it!
