LS i3040 versus R3039?

   / LS i3040 versus R3039? #11
I have about 16 hours on my I3040H. Absolutely love it. I can see how the R3039 loader valve might be more ergonomic. No complaints. I have used a 3pt backhoe on mine that I originally purchased for an older JD 1050. No issues at all. The price you are quoted is not out of line from what I paid for the I3040H and the 3-pt backhoe.

Just got literature on the two today. The R3039 has the telescopic lower links, has a different hood, lifts less on 3-pt but still a lot, lifts a lot more with the loader and the loader is heavier and has 1.6 more gpm flow with .7 gpm of it at the remotes which would be good for loader work.

Loader, telescopic links and hydraulic flow probably are worth the extra money. Looks are bonus.

Hydraulics and 3pt specs are identical on the two according to LS's published specs:

R3039H
Hydraulic System
Implement pump gpm
8.6
Steering pump gpm
4.3
Total flow gpm
12.9
Category, 3 pt hitch
CAT 1
Hitch Lift capacity, lb
1808

FYI....

I was puzzled by the quoted 2250 lb lift capacity on the LS site, when hydraulic flow and loader cylinders are identical, so I checked with LS's tech rep, and was told the following:

The pressure is the same as well as lift capacity. The LL3103 has the same spec's as the LL3101 all the way across. System pressure is 2250 PSI on both models.

So apparently they have a typo that's showing loader PSI instead of lift capacity....

To summarize, the differences between the I3040 and R3039 are:
new hood
fender mounted loader control
telescoping lift arms

Otherwise, they're identical.

Doesn't the R series also get the two hydraulic remotes where I series ( and G now) do not have the remotes?

The i series has remotes; at least my i3030 has remotes (2 pair).

Maybe it's just the S/J series that don't hVe remotes... I tried to check but the I series isn't on the LS site anymore. The G series doesn't list the remotes as a feature so I figured they and I series didn't have them...

G series owners, does your tractor have the rear remotes?

I just bought a R3039, paid $17200, shuttle shift, so far so good, used it to spray, disc, mow (brush hog), seed with grain drill, moved dirt, excellent machine. I had the back tires filled, should of had front ones filled, took bucket off and seems like the front end is a little jumpy. Only problem the fuel guage is not reading correctly, replaced the float system and it looks like it has a dash fuel guage problem.

Same machine as the New Holland Boomer 35, just $3000, cheaper.

The R30369 comes with 2 remotes.
