Kubota L3240HST-3, Hustler Fastrak 54" ZTR
I Love it! Obviously I can get a ton of stuff done that used to take forever. Here's a few things that I didn't expect or surprised me:

-Compared to other machines I've been around, its relatively quiet, especially at or near idle. I can work outside while my kids are taking naps and it doesn't wake them up. I think the auto throttle advance really helps here.

-The turning radius is really tight.

-Didn't think I'd use it much but cruise control is very handy.

-I kind of like the smell of diesel exhaust. :confused2:

I'm sure I'll grow to love even more things about it.

Cruise control on a tractor! Whats this world coming to? :D Next thing you know they will be installing stereos in them...
Sounds like you have a nice ride there.

Kubota makes great machines

Have fun and keep that seatbelt on ( whenever it makes sense to do so)

Like you I've spent much seat seat time while the little one sleeps

Just ordered a l3240DT from Barlows. He said 2 weeks till delivery. It's replacing a 8n that I've had for 12 yrs. I think that I'll be kicking myself for waiting so long to buy a new one.

I bought a L3240 about a year ago. Since that time, I've put about 115 hours on it. The hour meters on the other tractor has about stopped. You're gonna love it.

This last week I aquired a tractor very similiar to yours, GL3240 with 724 loader and the heavy duty 72" bucket. This is one sweet machine.
Traded my cub for it which seemed to have a little more sensitive transmission but it was a smaller tractor with non loaded tires.
The H-DS and the auto throttle advance are some really cool functions which I use daily on this machine. For moving boats back and forth from the back lot to service shop, or back lot to front lot for pickup. Awesome is all I can say!
With the cub I always kept the loader on for ballast, the kubota I can leave the loader off until the need for it with no worry about ballast.
Now I will be in need of a 6ft snowblower to cover the width of the tires... not sure if trading my 5 footer in or sell out right would be best. Have the summer to think about it...
All I can say from my experience up to date... lol one nice tractor!

And for not getting an HST, but that's another story :D

To each his own. I've preferred gears all my life and won't have to listen to the whine of the hydro and have a little more HP. Plus I'm saving enough money that let me afford the Grand L. I plan on keeping this tractor a long time so resale isn't that much of an issue altough the used DT's I saw were still commanding a good price. Still waiting on mine from Barlows, maybe next week.

I was just messin' with ya. I figured if you had checked out & then ordered a Grand L, you would've surely checked into & decided against the HST version

Smelling diesel exhaust for hours on end often leaves me confused.

Glad to hear you are liking the new machine!

I guess the reason they make different kinds of tractors is that there are different kinds of tractor buyers :laughing:

I have the GST L3240 with about 90hrs on it... I toooooo LOVE it... The HST was on the lot but the GST model was $2.5k less. It all worked out and I have no issues not buying the HST... I too plan on keeping this one for a long long time so resale was not a thought at all. Heck maybe one day I will have 2 tractors!!! The little grand is GRAND!!
