He's got a grapple bucket though...

Personally, I prefer PT's grapple bucket over their light-duty grapple. I've bent the "fingers" on my grapple bucket and my friend has bent the teeth -- and the whole LD grapple is made of about the ame material as the teeth on the bucket, I think.

Now if it was a heavy-duty full grapple designed for a regular CUT or skidsteer, that would be an improvement...

The grapple design has counterbalancing pluses and minuses. The teeth on the lower jaw don't hold up well to carrying a big tree trunk lengthwise or prying 600lb rocks out of hard clay. The teeth will bend down.

OTOH, if it was built like a heavy duty skid steer grapple, it would weigh several hundred pounds more and wouldn't be able to lift the 600lb rock or big tree trunk.

I have found that my 16lb orthodontist's micrometer will tap the teeth back into line with no drama.
