Well I see the brain trust at Pickup Truck News still thinks Colorado has an Eisenhower Pass. Wrong! It's the Johnson-Eisenhower tunnels on I-70 near Loveland Pass.

The Johnson tunnel was named for a Colorado governor.

I have an 08 F 350 6.4 for a work truck... It is a nice truck mileage could be better 14.5 mpg or so with work body on it 12.5 mpg to 13 mpg with 7000 lbs trailer behind it. I also have a 87 ford F 150 with the 4 speed manual 4x4 it gets 15 mpg empty and 10.8 to 11.5 with 10,000 lbs trailer behind it. Heres my thought on all of this my 87 is lets see 24 yrs old and it still gets in the ball park of the same mileage as my 08 diesel. I mean come on wheres the progression. Oh and by the way my 87 is still on same engine and trans not missing a lick and i pull with it in the mountains of NC about 2 to 3 times a week. I say forget all this technology and give me my proven 302 back.:thumbsup:

Yep, the old stuff could produce. No doubt about it. The progress has been to keep or increase power (what was the hp/ft lbs on the older models?) to keep up with the crazy power wars, while still staying within the newer EPA standards.
