I'm upgrading my B3200 to an L4400

Most likely. I love my B3200 but within months of owning it, I began to think I should have got an L series. JohnThomas' thread about your first tractor being a test tractor makes sense to me. I have had my B3200 for year and a half, and pretty much have found out I could use a bigger tractor.

Went to my dealer and they have a L4400, 6 foot quick attach FEL, HST, 4WD with R-1's. It is a big tractor for me, feels a bit to big but maybe I'm used to my little B3200. Price on the L4400 is $22,000 flat plus tax. I think its a good deal, what do you all think? It has 3.5 hours on it so it is probably a 2010 model and the hours are from test drives here and there. The 3PH is a little jerky also, not sure if that is a concern for me. This tractor is a HUGE difference in size and power from my B3200 and I'm wondering if its to much. But stepping up to a L3400, I'm not really gaining much other than weight.

I sympathize with you. As you can see from my list below that it has been a process of upgrading. I got to the point where I needed the B series size and had a lot of use for a larger L. So when I talked trading with the dealer I was insulted with what they would give me for my one year old 50 hr tractor. It was bad enough that for a few dollars more I got a used GL and kept my B3200. I will see how this arrangement works and if it turns out one does not get used it can be sold easy for way more than the dealer was going to give me.

I'm pretty pleased with what my dealer is giving me for my B3200. I actually have decent equity in it. I love the size of the 3200 for navigating through the woods but my recent tasks and future tasks require more power and FEL capacity.

Whats you all's opinion on $22,000 for the L400?

dex3361 - Is your 3PH jerky? If so is it a problem?

I don't know anything about the price, but it doesn't take long for a tractor to shrink, we refer to my L5030 HSTC as the little Kubota.

You may want to contact Barlows to see what they can do for you on the trade. They sell alot in north east states. They just did a trade for a B3200 from NY and had the B3200 sold to a La buyer before they got it to Somerset. You may find your dealer is offering you a great trade or not.

Well, I traded up.....
....

Very wise move, especially to figure it out and act on it so soon. I have owned other tractors so the L4300 I have (same as L4400) was a quick choice for me.
It is one sweet and powerful tractor. Price is right, power great and user friendly.
You can also add draft control--I did--and grade with a rock rake like a pro. It uses so little fuel I thought the gauge was broken.

Ford skid steer weights fit the front weight bracket if it matters and the plug-in for the work light is under the rear fenders.
Might be one under the seat as well. Good call and congrats. Eagerly awaiting photos.
