Well today I was mixing corn silage up for the cattle and I decided I would listen to some music so I put in my earphones and turned on my iPod and after 15 minutes I was tired of listening to music and turned it off and stuck it in my pocket

I finished mixing silage and decided it was time to feed it so stopped the tractor and checked my pocket for my knife and thought I would get my iPod just to make sure it was still there and no iPod

Needless to say : It fell out of my pocket and got ranover:(

There goes $150

I don't even buy t-shirts with pockets any more because every time I bend over I lose what ever was in my pocket!

That's why they make the little elastic arm band carrying strap!! If joggers can run without losing their ipod, the strap should be good to carry an ipod while operating a tractor.

Sorry to hear about the iPod. BUT, when on the open tractor I don't take these things with me. Just me and my thoughts. Had a cap blow off and go under the shredder one time....hated that, one of my fav' caps at the time.

Don't bring anything you aren't afraid to lose and can't live/work without.

I usually put stuff like that in a more secure pocket. My cargo pants have velcro or zippered pockets and my jacket has zippered outside pockets and a velcroed, inside cell-phone sized pocket. Shirt pockets, even buttoned ones, tend to dump things out when you bend over.
Of course, you have to remember to put things into a pocket in the first place. Once I lost a pair of glasses I put temporarily on the car roof when my wife drove off to the store. The older I get the less safe it is for me to set anything down "temporarily" where it doesn't belong.

My next-to-last cell phone had that kind of demise... I had it in a velcro-closed pouch clipped to the loader mount. Apparently, it wasn't branch proof and disappeared while I was bush hogging a field. I found it, but after the tractor ran over it the best was gone.

Yeah--been there, done that. Last time was when I was mucking out horse stalls. IPOD is somewhere in the manure pile.

Since that last time, I have switched to the cheapo SanDisk players--usually about $15-$30 for 4 gig. They don't have the fancy screen, but they work well with Window's media player and at $15 each, if one gets lost, no major loss.

Maybe I can help you feel a little better.....

2 months ago I put my truck off the road about a mile from my house. There was an inch or 2 of snow on the road and it was coming down hard. I got sideways in the middle of a turn going 35 or 40mph, TOO FAST.!! I went over one of those old culverts framed up with granite blocks. So, I called my GF who was home and she came and got me back to the house where I called a wrecker. We drove back to the "scene" and while turning around my GF put her 4x4 Explorer into the ditch.!! I had grabbed my camera to take pictures of my truck and while hooking a chain onto her vehicle....my camera came out of my pocket and spent the winter in that #$%^@*&0!@#%$ ditch.!!:ashamed::(:confused2:

THAT was a bad frikkin' day let me tell you.!!

Now I went through my first winter with my 3pt. snowblower WITHOUT a camera.

The camera I want is $250 and the pennies aren't adding up very fast.

This ain't funny, but my dog chewed my phone to death after I lost it playing with him. I was going to call him and tell him not to hurt it, but he did it anyway.

$50 to replace it.
