Was up at my TSC today to buy some bolts in bulk and checked out the attachment inventory. Looks like they are gearing up for the spring because they had to have at least 8 tillers, 5 Middle Busters, a couple sub soilers and about 3 rectangular frame discs and quite a few brush cutters. Hopefully they will throw them on sale.

I am not sure if it is just my local store or if they all do it but my store is very willing to negotiate on the price on their stuff if you talk to a manager. I usually go in there with a number of about 20% off the price and go from there. They will almost always give you 10%, most times more.

Galaxie; sounds like you have a good store{atleast managment} I have taken advertisements in from others stores to show TSC they{other store}were cheaper on same item, they get nasty. Even had one manager tell me "well go shop there then",you can quess what I did. Our TSC's up here leave a lot to be desired, atleast the way they are run. It's a shame because I do enjoy the store, but the negative additudes drive customers away. I even tried to return a product that I bought there, didn't need it {for in store credit} because the label had changed they wouldn't give me the time of day  I quess it depends on the area and the people, chain stores seem to have away of getting some real riff raff to work for them.

Not just your store you would think that it is their business which they are running into the ground. Same here with the one I have shopped untill Atwwods opened when I had no choice since other one is other way.

I was in one of the two near me today and they have the yellow implements. Anyone know if they will ship to store? I am in need of a tiller and was looking at the Orange (aka king kutter XB) 48" one. I have a BX1860. Neither of my stores have much of the orange ones though.

They may have changed since last year............

But the only 48" tillers that TSC was selling for Subcompact tractors was an 'offset' model.

Don't get an offset model unless you are buying used and getting a great deal on it.

Purchase a tiller that will cover both tire tracks, you will be much happier.

I purchased the Bush Hog brand for mine, but the King Kutter XB 48 should be a fine implement also.

Hope this helps,

Word of caution:

TSC typically does NOT include the lube oil with PTO implements. Confirm that there is lube in your implement before you leave.

Also, double-check the terms of the warranty. You CANNOT buy a Power Plus warranty for implements.

I worked at a TSC for 6 months, and that was long enough...

. I just ordered one (rain check) this passed Monday from my TSC store. It should be in this coming week. As for being offset or not, I'll just have to wait an see. Offset might not be a bad thing. Upgrade or use a different tractor and still cover the tire tracks or work close to a fence line.

Maybe somebody in the store would have known. Did you ask them?

Well the TSC i was in isnt the one i would ultimately purchase from. Last time i asked a question in there I was not impressed. Besides I was on lunch and just taking a quick look.

i would prefer not to even buy there but shipping for a tiller from an online source is too much. I was looking at everythingattachments Sicma 48" as well but Id have to either pick up at a terminal or pay for residential shipping.

There shouldn't any problem with TSC ordering one in for you. I'm not sure where your located, when I checked back in February on one. They had 1 unit it the PDC that serves my TSC. When I ordered mine (Monday), there was 5 units at the PDC. So that tells me they are starting to gear up for Spring on outdoor equipment. Now as to weather they will stock the sub-compact equipment like tillers at all the stores. I don't know, best guess, demand at that store will dictate what they stock. So if you want 1, have them order 1 in or if you want to see 1 first, tell them that your very interested in purchasing one and see if they will order 1 in for stock. They can also transfer products between stores I believe.

sorry to revive this thread but i have an update and new question. I called 5 TSC's today about the XB. Only one seemed to have any clue and that one was a bit far. To get an answer from the rest I had to lookup their SKU number and explain what i was looking for. Even then i didnt get an exactly straight answer as to when i could expect it to show up.

So i started thinking about the regular KK II (non xb model). i took a quick measure and it seems like it would be a tight fit on a BX. The hieight seems ok - should be able to lift fine but the pin spacing seems tight.

Two questions: does anyone have a KK II on a BX and if so how does it fit?
And are there shorter replacement pins to allow the lift arms of a BX to work a KK II?

I was going to go through everythingattachments, and still may if need be, but their SICMAs are still on a boat and im looking at 6 weeks for those. Too late.

I havent been able to find a tiller dealer near me other than TSC unfortunately.

I got my tg-48-xb tiller from TSC last week and it's a nice unit, got it setup, cutting the pto shaft was alittle bit of a pain, what I did was removed the safety shield & the back panel on the rear supports that goes to the top link. Makes it a lot easier to see what your doing. I set the slip clutch bolts at 1 1/4 turns and took it to the garden, man does that thing chew dirt. It's not off set & it's gear drive. Nice paint job, except where it's scuffed from the shipping crate, got a free can of Bota orange spay paint. :).

I received the TSC flyer today and it looks like the 60" tillers are back to $1499 which is $100 off.

TSC is showing 0% interest for 12 months again on qualifying purchases with the TSC credit card on purchases over $300.

A new store opened in Siler City, NC a few months ago and it has been great shopping there. I printed out agri supply's price on their 35 gallon horizontal white leg tank and TSC price matched it. It was about a $34 difference.

You guys are lucky your TSC stocks these attachments. I visited my local store inquiring about 3pt attachments and the employee looked at me like I had three heads. After explaining what they were, all he did was open a catalogue to the PTO parts and then I helped him find the correct page and he says, that's all we can order, no tiller, no plow, no box blade, just a cultivator, a harrow and a back blade. It was unbelievable how poor the service was there and it's the second time I have left empty handed.

And to think my first exposure to TSC near/in Jackson, TX was love at first sight. Talk about a difference.

I know that feeling ... up here the tractor supply is more a "keep housewives happy with k-mart prices on campy rural themed junk"

I got my KK XB 48 at a local farm store here in Northern Mich. for $ 1099.00.
Took it home, hooked it up, no problem, looked outside, ( 3 inches of snow in about 2 hours ). My fault, but it looks good!

I just bought a KK 48" TG-48-YK tiller for my BX23. Handles it great. Had to shorten the drive shaft 2". I do have the "PAT'S easy change installed. I don't really care for the offset feature of the YK model, but I can live with it. The YK is a little heavier that the XB model. Heavy is good for box blades and tillers. I have found that tilling in reverse with the rear gate wide open (going very slow) does a better job in sod and very hard clay.

The XB weighs 524 lbs according to the spec's. I had to take 4 inches off of each end of the PTO shaft to make it fit the BX. That was one of those "here we go hold my beer moments", but it turned out well. Hope to try it out this weekend.
