Something is wrong with that data. It says only 1082 4wd tractors were sold in the country??????

That is a lot of articulated tractors. Not something that every Thomas, Richard and Harold owns.

This is all AEM data for farm tractors. It does not include compacts.

It has been my understanding that the 2wd data included the MFWD tractors of the appropriate HP range... I could be wrong, but that's what I am told... they are a bit unclear on that point.

That's Funny.
On a serious side, 4wd refers to articulating tractors as said.
2wd would be a front wheel assist machine.
Can't tell you if it includes compacts.

I am pretty positive it does not. They draw a line in there somewhere. The numbers are too small to include subcompacts and stuff.

I am not sure where the line is drawn but it says "row crop" tractor so I am sure that doesn't include compcats.

<40 Includes the compacts. It's stated in the new issue of Ag Equipment Intelligence as such.

The numbers are looking good, down to just over 6 month supply in the field of under 40HP 2wd/front assit tractors. With exchange rates on the dollar as they are (all of these are imported or made of imported parts), we will see price increases over this year. Agressive programs (free loaders and rebates) make this a great time Buy. If you can pick up an "older inventory" tractor you may be able to get last years pricing, this years incentives and beat next years price jump.

One more note about this, it is not mandatory for manufacuters to give the numbers and to the best of my knowledge not all companies do contribute their information on sales to be counted.

I know the majors do but with so many companies starting to come over to be in this market I don't know that the results are totally acurate.

GIven the bulk of small tractors seem to be Japanese under the paint, the Yen being down to 76 to the dollar the price of all things from the raising sun will be uber expensive shortly.
