There used to be a mid '90's or so F350 Crew dually around Sacramento that was like that. It got stretched, doors added. The guy liked to duck hunt ect was story I heard. He'd load up quads on a trailer, and have a truck full of friends to go out hunting ect.

It looked a lot like the '96 F350 on that website, but was a dually.

I've always liked the idea of an extended cab/half door behind the full crew cab. It appears that if you bought a crew cab long bed, you could lose the long bed and put the extended cab and a short bed on it without messing with the frame too much.

That's exactly what the Dodge RAM mega cab is, it's the crew cab long bed truck with a short bed and extended cab instead. No special fabrications needed!

No downtown parking with them. I thought my long dually was hard to park!!!!

Somebody call the cops! Someone stole half the bed on that truck!

It's still a 6ft 4in bed just like other crew/quad cab trucks and is a full 8ft with the tail gate down...

Sorry. I had a shortbed(wife had a '04 Ram1500 quad cab shortbed). I much prefer my longbed. Personal preference, even it it does make a long truck.

If it can't carry sheets of 4x8 plywood flat on the bed deck with the tailgate up, I don't want it.

Had a co-worker telling me he hauled a full sheet of plywood in his avalance with the tailgate up all proud and boastful the day before. I said I couldn't do that as my truck don't have a tailgate but I had 2 pallets of quick crete on it. He walked out and his bubble burst.

On topic if I win the lotto I would go for the 6 door f650 for the family outings.

I know, we've looked extensively at all full size pickups the past few years. What I meant was a full 4 doors with an extra seat behind it. Like the ones with full four doors, then half doors that open in the suicide manner. Like Dodge's quad cabs that were pre-03. And like Ford's super cab. I think 2010+ Dodges would look great with a "super cab" and a long bed.

I bought a GMC C-4500 in 06 and had Laredo Conversions do the interior. Laredo Conversions - the Horseman's Choice I dropped the truck off myself after taking delivery on the truck in GA. The dealerships were mainly using Regency Conversions. I liked the Laredo seats much better and didn't care for the plastic wood dash overlays and all the "bling". I had air ride seats, cab, and rear suspension installed. Leather front buckets with a console and rear bench that let down into a flat bed with the touch of a button. They also installed matching carpet and floor mats. Monroe did the flatbed and the rear suspension air ride was made by Kelderman. http://www.keldermanmfg.com/

Agreed! Heck, I'd like a 10' bed so sticks of pipe, unistrut, etc can do the same thing...lay on the bed floor with the tailgate up.

We went with a Tundra Crew Max back in '07. I miss having a full size bed sometimes, but love the truck anyway. Not a great pic for showing the truck, but you get the idea.

I have an 07 Chevy Crew cab with 6 foot bed and it has just as much room in back as in front. I would want anything any longer. It just barely parks in parking lots now with out a lot of backing up etc. and I need the whole lane so I can swing wide to get in. If it is a single lane, I cant get in without reversing a few time or coming in from opposite direction and backing in. I can live with letting the tail gate down to haul 8 foot items. I have the flip over tail gate extender to lock in stuff to keep it from rolling out if needed, however it takes up a lot of room in the bed when you dont have the tailgate down.

I agree that the length is a trade off. For us, the cab was/is more important than the bed as we have trailers we can use if needed.

Sweet! Got any more picks of the bed build?
