Well, as fate would have it this year is turning into one good old-fashioned winter and to all you naysayers too bad we live in the Northeast and I love snow. I'm awaiting another 24 inch snowstorm :) :) :) it feels good to finally use my snow blower and know that the money wasn't wasted. I look at my children's faces and their disbelief at my excitement as the snowstorm approaches , kids these days they just don't appreciate anything simple that life gives you, if it isn't a fancy new video game they're not interested I tried to raise them with different values, but I guess it's hopeless LOL. take care

Radium - fancy new video game, fancy new snowblower - what's the difference? Hope you both have fun!

Radium, I wish I could share your enthusiasm. Another storm, another day changing fuel filters, fixing sanders, dealing with impatient customers, then a 1-1/2 hour ride home (20 miles) :^( Hope my roof didn't colapse. Ugh!

..And when this all stops- MUD (I shoulda been born wealthy)

LOL comments like that bring me to tears with laughter. You live in New York State and you're not used to Winters? I'm in my early-50s when I was a kid snow started in November and didn't leave till late March, usually people that didn't like just headed south to warmer climates. The fancy snowblower really makes me laugh for 27 years I drove a 67 MF open platform tractor and a farm king snowblower welded together with every part laying around the farm to keep it going , and before that basically a garden tractor when I was a young man helping my parents out. We live in a tough environment in the Northeast you can make the best of it and work a little harder and get the right equipment for the jobs at hand, nothing comes easy I worked two jobs to buy that tractor I'm going to work tonight at 10 o'clock to five in the morning on a third part-time job to buy my 90 hp tractor for the farm to replace the old case that went down two years ago nothing comes easy regardless of what our present socialist government seems to believe ;-). Stay warm and safe I hope your roof doesn't collapse I usually snow rake the roofs around the farm including my house especially with this kind of winter once again take care

You got that right about the kids today! My nieces/nephew won't even walk through snow, much less play in it:laughing:!

Man when I was young, the first real snow was a time for CELEBRATION! We would turn blue(with red ears and noses) from playing outside in it! Snowmen, snow angels, snow forts and neighborhood-wide snowball wars were the order of the day!

Then in the evening, practically the whole town would meet at the local middle school to sled and tube down the "Big Hill" that bordered the baseball/football field! We would have burn-barrels a-blazin' and toast marshmallows and hot dogs and a couple of the families always had hot chocolate and coffee ready for whoever wanted it. (free) Everybody knew everybody and there was never any problems that I can recall. (No fighting, drugs, or drive-byes...:confused2:)

Grandpa's old CASE would be drafted into service to pull a trailer loaded with kids and sleds to the school and other local "hotspots" for sledding. I think I kissed my first girl while night-sledding at the school;)...(Caught heck from my buddies over that!) Wow, you got me all nostalgic over here...

Love the sleigh. :)

the sleighs are the only thing that make me like living in the snow. we have 2 of them. one is pulled by a team and can hold 4 people, the other is a 1920's vintage 2 person cutter sleigh that is pulled by 1 horse. what i really want is a single seat racing sleigh (Albany cutter)...modified to be pulled by a team....ill call it my suicide sled .....HA it would be a blast. the

Thanks flyingcow, I'm glad more people feel that way. 77TransAm know exactly how you feel, was going through the same thing when I first heard of this storm approaching it brought back memories of how excited we all would be in anticipation of the event width school being canceled, extra day to play with your friends and digging in the eight-foot snowbanks along the barn sides and throwing snowballs at the poor cows :). I just wish my kids could have a little bit of these feelings if not what will they have to look back on? I tell them all the time your in such a rush to get from A to B you miss that little space between your life. Grsthegreat beautiful pictures talk about a memory maker you must look forward to the Winter just to use them. take care all
