Might be off topic a bit, but what is the danger of using a smaller tiller, say a 60-inch that is probably rated for only up to 40-45hp on a tractor with 55hp PTO? Can't be more specific on the tiller because I don't know any more about it.

As long as you keep the Tiller slip clutch set correctly, you will be ok. Ken Sweet

I own a KK subsoiler and a KK boom pole. Excellent quality.

Okay, so they are static tools, but nonetheless, they are very heavy duty, especially the boom pole, when that thing arrived I couldn't believe how heavily built it is. If I ever manage to bend it, I will likely crack the tractor in two during the same lift.:p

Does KK offer RB with hyro and also hydro scarifiers box blades?

I used my dad's 5' King Kutter rotary mower and was very disappointed. I used it primarily for mowing ditches. The grass would wad up, bog down the tractor, and come out of the rear of the mower in huge bunches that I would have to get off of the tractor and kick to break up. It was poorly designed and just made a mess of things. The gearbox also had a constant whine to it. It wasn't worn out, because it was a new mower and I was the first to use it. (proper oil level too) I bought a Deere LX-5, went back to the same ditch the next day, and it did an exceptional job. The rounded discharge does not allow the grass to wad up underneath and the tractor runs smoother. Not trying to cut down the whole line, just passing on my experience with the mower.

I have the 5' KK tiller and it works very well. Only a couple of complaints - I store it outside and every time I use it I have to drain water out of the left gearbox. Only way to drain it is to loosen several of the bolts. The gasket is rubber and next to impossible to get it in the right position, and you can't really tighten the bolts because it squeezes the rubber gasket out.

I just bought a 72" KK tiller. (that was the biggest Orschelns can get) Whats the difference between it and the 'professional model'? I cant tell any. $1650.00 not bad!

King kutter rep what territory do you cover?

   / King Kutter Rep. #73
I live in Missouri. I'm all over the place.
Reps aren't normally "all over the place", they usually have specific territories that they cover.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to 'diss' KK, my BIL has a KK 72 inch tiller and it does a geat job. I probably would have purchased a KK tiller myself, but the specs said the 48 inch was offset(and I will never own another offset tiller), you say they aren't.

But, with that being said, the original question was evaded.

About 4 years ago my BIL used my tiller/tractor on his very dry, virgin hard clay. Beat the tractor to death and a couple of bolts came out of the KK II 60" tiller. When I got it home I took the cover off the gearbox, cleaned it out with with brake fluid and put new oil in it. KK sent me some new bolts and a gasket.

Here is a picture I made while I had it off, for those interested in seeing the innards of this tiller. I think its a fine tiller.

I have machined/built a lot of various gear drives for machines when I was in the machinest business. I would like to see a better mesh on that top drive gear. Looks like 40-50 thousands of slop in there. Can't tell so much about the bottom mesh at that angle? Ken Sweet

I'm sorry if you feel I evaded (sp?) the question. My job is not a typical job. I do sales and marketing (not the typical sales and marketing you find at a big company). I call on corporate clients in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri. I also call on dealers in Illinois and Missouri. I represent King Kutter and Taylor Pittsburgh Mfg at many Farm and Trade Shows in the US. I handle photo shoots and advertisements we run in industry magazines.

About the TG-48 tiller. *It is offset. It does not offset, meaning you can't change the permanent offset. It's designed to till out one wheel track

This line is totally confusing.

You told a guy in the other thread that it could be set to run centered, or offset, which I knew wasn't true. But I didn't dispute it there.

I don't understand why the KK rep is catching it from folks. I for one am interested in what he has to say.
