I built one. I got the basic concept from a 2 inch square picture in an owners manual of a JD snowblower. I copied the idea, assuming I understood it. I thought the cable system amplified the cylinder range about two to one. Actually it amplifies it three to one. Happy mistake, I got more range than I had planned for. I found some pictures of it all. Some of the more exotic parts were made on my nc plasma cutter. The pulley wheels came out of McMaster Carr. The cable was just some locally-sourced vinyl coated stuff. I took bolts, cut off the heads, bored into the shank, and silver soldered the cable into them for ends (see pics). If questions, please ask.

Well im not gonna lie, that looks really complexe for me lol. Very nice job though, im enveous of your skills, i can weld and fab stuff, but thats a nice job.

I was looking through some of the other treads that were brought up under the search/google search and there just isnt a bunch of hydralic ones. I like the winch one for sure but i have outputs that i would like to use. I also like the window motor one as it is simple and i have a 12V power point back there and it wouldnt take much to make a switch on my tractor.

If you look under photo gallery, attachment photos, then other attachments, you'll see pictures of a rotator motor and a chute deflector I added to my Kubota at a cost of just about $200 for the whole set up. If you email me I'll send you all the info on where I bought all the parts.I hope this will help you out.

I like the hydraulic chute rotator, it is the exact same in concept as the one on my snowblower. I posted pictures of it year but I am unable to find them on TBN.

Can you post photos of what arrangement rotates the chute now? That would help with ideas to make it hydraulic.

I found the post of my hydraulic chute rotator. I built it 15 years ago and I have never had any trouble in the slightest. As with any design prototype 2,3,4 would be tank grade and bullet proof. I think a 2" x 8" stroke on 8" chute gives me 240 degrees of rotation in around 1.5 seconds. Based on the small number of comments last year I thought I was off on a wrong tangent.

Well i went to my local dealer today and ordered the half moon rotator part. I cant even build it for that price. It was only $59 bucks so im not gonna waste any more time trying to build one lol. As much as i get the joy in building my own stuff, i cant even buy the metal for that price to build the part. But ill have it tommorow and ill get it all rigged up tommorow nite and see how it works out. Ill post some pictures when its all done.

I built my own rotator this spring. I bought a hydraulic motor and a couple hoses and fittings on the internet, and built the framework with scraps I had. It uses the hydraulic connections for the bucket, and I connected the motor to the existing hand-crank mechanism, minus the shaft. It cost me $200, and wasn't that big a deal to do; it has worked great so far.

Well i kinda got delayed and side tracked. Dang work gets in the way everytime. Well i got the rotator arm installed and everything installed today. i used a 11" stroke 1" bore cylinder i got for 25 bucks. So i mocked up everything and test fitted it all up and it worked good. So i totaled it all up and im into it for about 100 bucks. But i think its worth it. I had the steel for the mount so it was free(bought a pile of good scrap for 40 bucks at a auction with lots of good stuff. Ill have to get some pictures up tommorow once i find my camera.

Good job on that Saskman.

Here's my version I put together close to 20 years ago using a surplus cylinder and steel and cables I had lying around. The only parts I had to buy were the 2 pulleys and the hoses.

It has always worked great. On my previous tractor, I could rotate it well over 210*, but I had to reduce the rotation for the B7800 or the chute would hit the cab when the blower was raised. I did that by changing the pulley spacing.

The cable is a little sloppy now since I bent the cross bar the pulleys are mounted on by trying to rotate the chute when it was frozen up.:( (Snow had melted, water ran down to base of chute and froze chute to blower body.)
