I subscribed for a year and was greatly disappointed. It definately had some neat stuff that people had made, but I didn't take away very much useful information. I can remember one where somebody made a combine into a front end loader for moving round bales of hay. It was impressive, but not very practical (at least in my opinion).

But I say give a subscription a try and you may like it and learn something. You'll only be out a few bucks anyway. The only way to know if you'll like it is to try it yourself.

I enjoy this magazine, even if many of the solutions don't have an application for me. The creativity is sometimes amazing-it's fascinating to see what folks with time and talent can devise.

Even thought some articles are repeats, I don't mind too much, as they might remind me about something I might be able to use myself down the road.

I figure if I get one good idea occasionally, it will be more than worth the price of admission.

I've been a subscriber for about three years. I really enjoy it. I clip out pictures and articles that I think I will get around to some day. I enjoy the Best and Worst Buys.

There usually are not any detailed plans though. But I enjoy reading the post here, even if I will never get around to doing all the things the folks on this forum create. Kinda similar to me.

If I remember, I'll subscribe. As a rtimgray said, I'll only be out a couple a bucks, and if it's a mistake, I'll know not to do it again.

Thanks everyone for your input. It sure is great to have such a bank of experience to throw questions against.

Take care.

Bought it for a year, but seemed to many of the projects were made from old combines. Not many other ideas. Maybe I'm wrong, but sort of lost interest in it.

i got the same offer, and just subscribed to it: hope its as good as it looks: i had never heard of it until i got the offer in the mail last week.
heehaw

I got it for a couple of years back in the 90's. But I didn't renew, there wasn't anything in there that I was going to do.

I share the opinion of many others... It's worth a year's subscription. There weren't many ideas in there that I used directly, but it sure changed my way of thinking. I'll probably never look at a combine, school bus, or barrel the same again.

Subscribed for a year. It had a few interesting creations but too many articles on some crack-pot trying to sell Rube Goldberg type machines. I don't like reading articles that are nothing more than an infomercial.

Got yet another mailing asking me to subscribe today...FLIP, directly into the recycle bin.
