Does anyone know the dimensions of the drawbar for a 574 IH tractor. I'm pretty sure the pivot pin is .950 other than that I don't know any other dimensions length, thickness, or width? My 574 has no drawbar and I'm trying to locate one for it. Thanks

Thanks Ken
I was hoping to pick up a used one. That is why I need the dimensions.
If I can't find used one I'll consider new. I have a feeling the shipping would kill me on a new one from Kentucky.

Well, We would drop ship from the closest warehouse to you and not KY. Ken Sweet

I have a Case IH 385, I think it's the same frame as yours. I took my draw bar off and put it up somewhere and can't put my hand on it right now. If I can find it I'll measure the pivot hole and get dimensions.

I have a 574 out back. I am unsure about the term drawbar. If you mean the one that runs across the lower arms of the 3 pt hitch or the bar that acts like a trailer hitch, (runs front/back)? My machine has both so I will try to remove the "hitch" type and check all dimensions. Please note, it has never been off to my knowledge so could take a bit. The other drawbar was purchased at TSC and is fairly common.

Not too hard to figure it out. Measure the anchor pin, that will give you the diameter of the front hole. The rear hole should be 1-1/8" or 1-1/4". Measure the clearance between the straps on the rear support, that is the maximum thickness. Width is measured between two bolts or pins dropped through the adjusting holes in the straps of the rear support. Rear hole needs to be centered exactly 16" behind the end of the 540 RPM PTO output shaft.

I was referring to the bar hitch. Takes a 9/16 wrench to get it off on the underneath side of the transmission. I have the 3 point stuff just no drawbar.
Thanks

I have no anchor pin. I have no straps to hold the bar down. I do have the swing bar pin bracket off and the hole measures .950. That tells me the rear bar hole could be less than an inch. If I have to drill a hole I need to know what size? the 16 inches does help me out, for bar length though. The rear hole size isn't a concern.
Thanks

Just curious what is used that the bar needs to be removed?
Thanks

Well, I dug out the tractor last night and checked the "bar hitch, sure enough, won't come off too easy. From under the tractor using imprecise measurement tool (tape measure in poor light) , I can offer: total length is 38", width is 2 1/4" and thick is 3/4". Hole for fwd anchor point is about 3/4" dia and is roughly centered at 4" from fwd end of bar. There is a hex head bolt and washer that partially covers the pin head (pin retaining, I am guessing). Rear hole is distorted on mine, probably was round, once but am guessing it is 1 1/4" dia, was probably centered about 1 1/2" from end of bar. best guess is about 16" from end of pto stub to rear hole though this is hard to establish with certainty. I have three other holes in my bar, 1/2' dia with centers from rear of bar at 5", 7 1/2" and 11". Hope this helps, if not, let me know if any more info required.

Thanks for the information. Is the 3/4 inch thick correct? The reason I ask is some of the used drawbars I have looked at are 1 1/4" The rest of the measurements sound like they would be correct. If I find a used drawbar it needs to be 38 inches long sounds like.
The hex head bolt and washer that partially covers the pin head (pin retaining). You just take that bolt out and the pin should drop out thus the drawbar is out. I took the whole bracket out because I have no pin, and will have to make all that fit the drawbar I find. Thanks again for the help.

I'll check thickness.

I know how to take it off but "getting" it off is another matter. I may need to bring into shop to thaw out, apply suitable force multiplier tools not available in the snow bank.

Just checked, we are both right, sorta.

My bar is 3/4" thick at end but is 1 1/4" thick towards the middle. Previous owners must have machined it down as it is gently tapered over the rear most 12" of bar length (not stepped or battered down). Can not imagine why nor do I know why there are 1/2' drillings as previously mentioned ???

Hope this helps. Please advise if more is needed.

Wow, that is weird. I think I have enough measurements now. The trick will be to find a used one. I do appreciate the effort.

Yeah rolling around in the snow is no fun.
