I have a chance to pick up a 2009 Bx 2660 with 65 hrs. It has a new 2011 loader on it, no mower deck, looks really nice. I can get it for 10,250. Any thoughts guys?

Price doesn't seem out of line if you don't need the MMM.

Sounds like a good buy to me.

If your paying cash then it's probably OK. If your borrowing the money then check with your lender and find out your payment with no money down for 60 months. Not 36 or 48 but 60 months. Then call Barlows and check your monthly payment for 60 months for a new one delivered to your home.
Bottom line for those of us that finance now instead of waiting till we have cash, maybe before we're 90 years old, is "How much is the monthly payment and down payment"? If a new one is less or same payments for the same time period then new is better than used no matter the selling/buying price.
Maybe rare and I mean rare exception for someone buying for business purposes.

Also, is it a Kubota loader?

Looks nice, and that price sounds pretty good to me but I have not priced out a new one for comparison (which you should do), but still, doesn't sound bad.

Looks good. Are turf tires what you'd want on it? W/O a mowing deck I suppose you would want it for other than mowing and R4's might serve better?

2.5 bhp more ( & 11% extra torque ) than the 23 ....... hardly show-stoppingly extra

But extra none the less, whether it is important will be up to each individual. The additional power and more comfortable seat made enough difference for me and my wife to prefer one.

Agree that the "extra power" isn't particularly show stopping because I doubt the BX25 TLB or BX2360 folk don't often run out of power.

BUT... the BX2660 does come with several upgrades, the most important of which is the improved seat.

That sticker wouldn't have much meaning to me if it were merely a tuned up 23, but it isn't. It is the D1005 which is a bigger block engine.

The OP found this unit, lightly used, and bought what he found.

I didn't "run out of power" on our BX2200, but we like the additional power of the BX2660. For most applications, I doubt most of us could tell the difference between the 2360 and 2660 if it wasn't for the decals and seat. Personally with my back, the seat was worth the extra money.

The list price for a new one in the crate with loader is, $15,359.00.(Kubota Web Site) A 15% discount, if you can get it will drop the price to $13,055.15. Then add sales tax. This one which is basically new is being offered for $10,250.00 and can/could in all likelihood be purchased for $10,000.00 without sales tax sounds like a no brainer purchasee to me.

I traded a BX2350 to a BX2660. I felt more power when mowing up a steep incline or thought I did. The BX2350 did the hill with no problem but the BX2660 felt like on level ground with no slowing or increased sound of motor. Felt like a tank going up the steepest hill. I guess I'd compare it to the difference of a 6 cylinder vs a 8 cylinder car or truck going up a steep hill. The 6's can be fine but the torque of an 8 is just there or feels like it to me.
Don't, please don't, get into the technical specifications of torque, you know who I'm talking about.:)
I can't explain it no more than I can explain why one can sit in a vehicle at 0 degrees and feel warm where the solar energy warms the body and really don't care. I'm saying I can feel the difference betwqeen vehicles with higher torque as I drive under certain situations.
Never race a Mazda RX7 against a V6 or V8 unless your going down hill, never, never up hill.:D
Had to get rid of my RX7 after finding out the difference in up hill, level and down hill racing. :)

Again, not an over-whelming difference but the PTO horse power was one reason I went with the 2660 (17.7 hp vs. 19.5). The mower deck I have is better served with the 19.5. Other reasons, the seat, why not at 0% interest... and of course the biggest reason??? The wife said go for it :)

I like my 2660. I'd buy it in a heartbeat at that price. I think that is a good deal for a tractor in excellent shape. That of course is the question.
