First of all, I am in the market for a tractor. The longer I look the newer I seem to want. I have been thinking all along that Kubota is what I am after. Got to looking at NH and given that I get an employee discount on them new, thinking that might be the way to go. At first I was considering the new Boomer 35. After reading around here I'm starting to think getting the 2035 would be a better choice (if I can find one). Any advice would be appreciated.

I have owned both, they are both good. In fact any of the major brands would be just fine. They all have good and bad points. The dealer support is probably more important than the brand, Just look at the features you want and compare them side by side and buy the most tractor you can afford that will do the jobs you want to do. Some of the little add on things can really make a difference in you operating pleasure. I am a Kubota man now, but could just as easily be green, blue white or red.

I read this forum for several months , looked for several months , before I bought . I enjoy truck and equipment shopping . My main thing was it had to be a major brand (CIH , NH , MF , JD , Kubota ). IMO , dealer network , parts availibility , the company being around , were important to me . k0ua stated it good about feature comparing . Have fun comparing and make the right choice for you .

Do have a NH dealership about 10 miles from my house. Guess that helps. Might have trouble locating a 2035, still looking.

Just got a heads up on a 2008 T2210 still on the lot. Little smaller than I was thinking. Cheap though.

You're in the market for a tractor to do what?

It's hard to answer your question without knowing what you are going to use the machine for. How about a little more info?

I have about 80 acres. Looking to till my garden, bushhog, run a sprayer, push snow, etc...

I have been doing some looking around and getting some quotes. Trying to find a tractor that is 5' wide with the most pto hp possible. Here is what I have found so far

New Holland - I do get an employee discount on this one so I thought it would be a no-brainer. Finding out that the Boomer 35 is Korean, I opted to concentrate on the 2035. Though getting thin, still able to find new. The easiest way I have found to compare given similar features is by dividing price by pto hp. Basic features include hydrostatic trans, R4, 4x4, QA bucket + loader.
Cash $21,100
0% $21,650. $749.13/pto hp. Not bad I suppose.

Kubota
I do like the Grand L40 version of this tractor. Problem is, even the smallest 32hp version (L3240) is almost 72" wide. This means bigger implements with less power. I quoted the L3540 since it is the bigger engine in the same frame
$26,215 - $936.25/pto hp. Wow! That thing gold plated or what!

I also quoted the L3800. 5' frame, 30pto hp, no bells and even less whistles.
$21,614 - $720.47/pto hp. Cheap enough I suppose

John Deere.
Looking at the 3520, which would have the eHydro and includes 1 rear remote I expected this to be the least economical. That was before I got the L3540 quote that is!
$26,921 - $897.37/pto hp

Massey Ferguson
I must say, this was the last tractor I considered, just to be thorough. Found a dealer not to far away. Asked for a quote then started reading the literature. Was very impressed with the 1643. Could be the literature, but this looks like one impressive tractor. Unfortunately, the pricing seemed more competitive with John Deere than I had hoped.
$27,276.44 - $824.06/pto hp
Dang! I liked this baby too. And then the dealer said the magic words. "if ya pay cash I can take 3k off". Wooo hooooo!
$24,301.84 - 734.19/pto hp.
Actually cheaper than my emp discount at NH!!!

Gonna have to drive about 4 hours to play with one, but I think it may be worth it. I can order one in fresh from the factory and everything.

Specs look good
33 pto hp
Loader with quick attach skidsteer bucket. 1900lb lift
Longest wheelbase
Actually pretty close to 5' wide
Heaviest model I have looked at
Real metal fenders and hood
Cast iron transaxle
Integrated loader controls
2800lb rear lift
Two pedal HST. No huge rocker, hate those
Telescoping stabilizers
3 available rear remotes (controls integrated)

Am I nuts or does this look like a sweet tractor?

When I was shopping the Massey Ferguson was brought to my attention by the New Holland salesman that carried both MF/NH . His words " I like the blue paint awfully well , but these red tractors are very nice . The more I looked at that 1532 the more I liked it , no regrets .

Can't go wrong with MF RED but hey im bias. I love all of mine and would use anything else except the one long tractor I have.
